| Hello to you all, I read a really funny review on the Isle of Wight written by Delboy and we started chatting. He introduced me to this site and suggested I join. So.... here I am. I've been to Majorca several times since my first visit in May 1971 when hubby and I spent our honeymoon in Arenal on the south coast. We stayed in Cala D'or for the Jazz festival once and had several short visits from Cruise ships taking the train up to the mountains twice as it was so lovely there in Spring. I hope to get to know a few of you over the next few weeks. bjbyorkshire |

| Helooooo, Just logged on to check my e-mails and found you good folks had sent me nice welcome messages.
I need a good laugh just at the moment, Delboy has had his ear bent with my 2012 annus horribilis (as the queen once said) and he suggested you mad hatters might be just the tonic I need.
No time to stop and chat just now though as I am off to our local pub with 2 lady friends for a bar meal and a good chin wag. Hubby is making his own tea tonight which doesnt happen often in our house so I will go get showered and changed and will catch up with you all later.
Dadsbarmy, I'm from a little village near Huddersfield, or if I am feeling a bit posh I say near to Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine country).
Speak later.

| Yes Beverley has had a really bad year, I sort of know the rest of you would be a real good tonic for her. I have had tears in my eyes many times laughing at you lot. Its what a doctor surgery just doesn't have but would be well recommended |

| Hello peeps, well, it was a 6:30 meet up at the local pub and we chatted until 10:30 non stop so I was pooped when I got home, hence no message from me last night. I did have a glass or several of wine actually which affects me a bit as normally I let hubby have his beer and I, like a good little wife, opt to be the driver. Last night was in staggering distance so the only thing stopping me was the price of a glass of Shiraz, £4.25 and it was not a large one. I could have bought a bl**dy bottle at Morrisons for not much more than that. Our local is a bit yuppy and has gone through a big re- vamp in the last 6 months so I guess they now have to recoup that back somehow. I had organic beef burger, chips and salad and the other 2 had chicken curry, poppadoms and ricee and we all agreed that that was not too over priced. I did balk at £4.25 for a sweet though so we all had coffee to finish. My favourite saying is usually "How much!!!!????" We 3 "ladies" go back a long way and although 2 of us see each other regularly for a walk I don't see the other one quite so often. Her hubby died last year aged 61 and my darling daughter, who they knew from her being born, died in July this year so it was really a catch up about what a rotten time we have all been having lately. It wasn't all doom and gloom though, girls being girls we boosted the mood and talked holidays, clothes and lots of trivia too.
You all sound like my kinda fols so here's to a great bit of banter in the months to come.
Hubby and I are seasoned travellers, cruises, long haul to Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, Dubia, the States so again if I can advise any of you I am happy to do so.
I organised a trip advisor meet a couple of years ago when we were all asking questions about Dubai and the middle east. We went on Brilliance of the Seas and all met in the English Pub one evening (ooooh drinking in a pub again!) and then it was a case of saying hello and having some people to chat to right from day 2 on the ship and comparing notes on where we had visited when ashore. I did a report on T/A about that cruise, if I can find it I will try to post it on here if anyone is interested.
We went to Majorca the first time in May 1972 for our honeymoon and have been quite a few times since, once to a Jazz festival in Cala d'or and a couple of times for the day from cruise ships. I do like Majorca but Ibiza out of season sounds nice - any of you been there? It said somewhere that it is fairly easy to access the island by local bus which would be ideal for us as neither of us is happy to drive on the "wrong" side of the road.
Must away now and do something constructive with my day, speak later tonight. Beverley |

| From Hull, Hell and Hudersfield good lord deliver us, and my bar roundel is, here's to me and my wife's husband, not forgetting mi-self! We drive on the right side of the road over here, I can give you details of some WirralScouses favorite brown trouser routes around here. you can also cover Mallorca by bus quite easily, Ibiza is a bit like the Isle of Wight (nice in places as long as you don't stay in Parkhurst) |
