Well we woke up to yet another cloudy start to the day, a bit of a pattern emerging here. So we decided to go to Golf Fantasia in Palma Nova. A possible venue for the 2012 MF Golf Championships? We bought our tickets, from a exchange/booking office next to our apartments. The lady informed me, that as it was only 11.90 euro's each, we may only be playing 2 out of the 3 courses there, as they were about to refurbish the area & one of the courses may not be in use. So we went along & handed our tickets in, & the guy told us they if we wanted to, we can play all 3 courses at no extra charge. Obviously the work has not yet started there. Well we started on the Blue course, San took an early lead.

I am not sure how many of you have been here, but it is set in beautiful landscape gardens with vivid coloured plants & bushes, waterfalls, caves loads of fish in the water, budgies in nice avaries & ducks roaming freely about the place.

Well the results came in on the leader board. I won the Blue & the Yellow courses, & San, I let her win by the way, won the Red Course, by one shot I will have you know. Noo I am afraid, will not be winning the infamous trophy, with her dismal showing, bless her.
The girls then wanted to go shopping, & I was having none of that, so I settled in at the Orion Bar to watch the Play Off Final between West Ham & Blackpool. Where we had a light snack when they rejoined me, with their usual bottle of wine between them.
"At least I beat the Englishman on one of the courses," thinks the Scottish Birdie.

"Golf is like having an Albatross around your neck," thinks Noo. Like the golfing terms, birdie & albatross.........................................no ,OK then moving on.

That night we went to see Leapy Lee at The Fountain Bar,

but unfortunately for him, Chelsea scored in the 82nd minute to force extra time then penalties, so he didn't play to a full house.
Believe it or not, that was Leapy Lee standing behind San talking to some of his friends. His kids were there as well watching/listening to him, then helping him pack up his gear at the end of the night.

Well the next day we woke up to wall to wall sunshine , so a day on the beach was in order. At night we took Noo to the F 'n' C BBQ in Palma Nova for a steak, she had Sirloin, & said it was the best that she had ever had, San had chicken breast. As we got into the restaurant the heaven's opened along with thunder & lightening, but it didn't last long TBH.

Our waiter talked me & San into having a Banana split,

& Noo had an Orange cream in an orange skin, which was very refreshing.

Again, all in all a very good place to eat, I would very strongly recommend it. Our bill with drinks came to 65 euro's with a tip, very reasonable considering what we had.

Brilliant mate, I like golf fantasia doen all three courses a few times, there is also Terrapins wandering around and I have saw a tortoise in there once as well. Great pics mate, mind I would have had to have that steak cooked a bit more lol

I asked for medium mate. But I was told that you should go for one more up, ie ask for well done if you want a medium steak in Mallorca.

Yes I'm enjoying this Mick. I think I'd like to give fantasia a try for 2012 trophy. I like the fact that there is a waterfall there

Have ate at F & C's as well, lovely place. Wouldn't have the T bone again though, it's so big it gets cold before you get to the end of eating it.

By the way, we are in santa ponsa from saturday for 11 nights, if we get a cloudy day etc will prob pop over to palma nova for another recce. How long on a bus do you reckon, i know its not far away.

as well as the golf which we do like to play, is there any other "things to do" on cludy days, bare in mind i have kids 7 -12 years.

Katmandu http://www.katmandupark.com/en/ they do a deal with the 4d cinema and might do one with the golf as well but not sure on that one. We took our daughter to Katmandu, we heard it was not great but our daughter enjoyed it and so did we, not great value for money but something to do. But if you do them all it will fill in a good few hours for you.

When you go ask about the passport, it gaves you entry into all of them and you dont have to use it for them all in one day, ie play one round of golf and keep two back for another day, it works out much cheaper to do that

Not used the bus before but have got a taxi which takes minutes to get there

Well in Magaluf there is the House of Katmandu



which has all kinds of things for kids inside

They have a desperados ride where you sit on an moving horse and shoot bandits to get the biggest score against about 20 other people



A 4D cinema



and a horror ride called Ayslum, not quite like on here

bit like ghost trains



and one of three golf courses where you can play or watch champions strut their stuff



or if that's too tame, you could try a spin on this



or thrown in the air on this, the little blob between the poles is two people screaming



all within a mile of Palma Nova

Also there is go kart circuit

and a water park not far away

We went from Magaluf to Santa Ponsa, a couple of years ago on the bus Ian, & it probably took 20 to 30 minutes, as we went through a couple of villages on the way through. It was cheap though, possibly a couple of euro's each, it was late morning. We got a taxi back later that night about 10pm ish, & it was less than 10 euro's, but it was a couple of years ago don't forget mate, so it might be slightly dearer now.
I would also consider a day out in Palma City Ian, well worth it. But be careful around the Cathedral if you go , as there are old lady pick pockets believe it or not.

Totally agree there Mark, as towards the end the steak was getting rather cooler. Noo's Sirloin steak was fantastic, so I would probably have that next time.

Thanks for replies will look into those. Will probably only use if weather is naff to be honest. Im Quite happy alternating between beach and pool if its good weather, keeps the kids happy. I enjoy snorkelling and have got my 12 year old into it. Stops me getting bored on the beach.
Then a nice meal followed by lots of ice cold beer.

Been majorca quite a few times and done palma and the cathedral. I really like Palma, it seemed to go on forever once you start walking back through the squares. Really nice city.

Any other places worth a look, ive been to port andrax before that was lovely. Only had very quick look at Plama nova and magaluf last time so will try and do that again. Soller also on my radar if we get chance.

Been Caves of Drach, must of been 20 years ago. That was a good trip. Normally stayed further up the east/north coast so ive seen a lot of that area.

edit - trouble with taxis is there are 5 of us and most taxis only take 4. Good post showiung prices, well worthy of a rep !
