Hi my wife and I's first time to Majorca will be in June as a change from the canaries where we usually holiday in Fuerteventura.

In the canaries a few ex pat's offer airport transfers at a much quicker and cheaper rate than the official transfer companies. Does anyone do this in Majorca?

We are looking for transfers to and from the airport to Cala Bona.

I dont know anyone that does this sort of transfer TBH, Ive been going for years and always have to pay full price

We do have one company that gives a little discount with our code but unfortunately the discount is no where near as good as it used to be and this sort of private transfer will be pricey as cala bona is about 47miles from the airport.

Your best bet would be to use a coach transfer company for the cost, but I have sat on a coach for well over an hour whilst waiting for it to fill up then because of the distance you will have to wait until they drop of others along the way.

Their is a few coach transfer companies that guarantee that you will be dropped off within a certain amount of drop offs, maybe within the first 3 drops etc.

We can advise you on which companies to use, let us know the number of passengers and we will all help you out, maybe someone that lives over there might see this post and offer you a lift.

Im a taxi driver here in the UK, I pay a small fortune for my insurance to cover my passengers, if you use someone you dont know for cash in hand and they have an accident you may not get any insurance should you be involved in a big collision. They might not be insured at all, the vehicle might not be road worthy, the driver might drink or take drugs etc, all these things you need to think about.

We don't know anyone on here that we know or trust to do this for you.

Thanks for the quick reply. I understand the insurance issue but the expats I have used on numerous occasions were not the type to drive whilst under the influence.

There is only my wife and I and have chosen Cala Bona as we are going to an adults only hotel. Our days of holidaying and listening to crying kids and angry parents are over and we are not old foggies in any shape or form.

I will hire a car during my holiday but when Im in the resort as I do enjoy a drink at the airport and on the flight.

If you could advise suitable companies to check out it would be most appreciated.

yes the insurance is the problem, you must have special insurance to carry passengers 'for money' over here without it, the normal insurance would be invalid if there was an accident

We tend to use Galitrans as Daryn said, pretty much the same price as a cab but good service!
