Well we unpacked & decided to go for a wander along the beach & discover the place, what could possibly go wrong? Brian went to his room & got his key some how stuck in the lock. We had to wait until after 2pm, as the Maintenance guy Jose, was on his lunch break. So he came & got the key out for Brian & off we went nearly 2 hours later.
Here we are finally setting off.

Just outside of our Hotel/Apartment, was this roundabout known locally as the 3 Palm Trees, I am not sure why?

After about a 5 minute or so walk, we were on the beach. TBH it wasnt soft sand as it seemed to have small pieces of shell in it, & was roughish on the soles of our feet. So we decided to walk on the boardwalks as much as we could.

We went shell picking for Brenda & Brian's Grandkids, as they love them.

It was just after dinner, so we stopped at a little cafe, The Lemon Tree, & had a tapas type lunch & Sangria. Brenda enjoying the ambience.

The walkway heading to the top of the Old Town. The train goes along this route as well as cars to the right of the path.

The beach of the Old Town, which seemed a lot more sandier, if you know what I mean.

A young couple asked me to take their photo, which I duly obliged saying, "Pose for the Camera Darling," which she duly obliged as well.

To get down to the Old Town, there was an escalator, but I will show that in the Old Town night review. We had a wander around the Old Town & found a tunnel down to the beach, which is quite unusual & unique we thought.

We found a little bar to chill out in before we went back to our Apartments.

I have no recollection of any of those places. I wonder was I sober at all for the 2 weeks

we paid the extra for a sea view,worth every penny.

we are hoping to have a cheeky 2 nighter in nov/dec

we have been to the area twice now and both times as a diy,we found it cheaper,then again i think mick had a good deal

That looks just my sort of hotel, Yozef - quite small & right on the seafront.

I will definitely think about it for next May.

Totally agree with Yozef about staying near the Old Town Jen. I would definitely recommend you going to Albufeira Jen, but take at least a cardigan for night time.

The 2nd time I went to Portugal, was in 1987 (I think) and we stayed in Albufeira. In those days, Montechoro was considered like another resort, but is now joined up, along with Praia D'oura and a host of other areas. We stayed at apartments right across the road from Fisherman's beach.
