Starting to think seriously about booking my flights and hotel and may make a week of it. If we are staying that long I was thinking of beachfront.
Anyone know what the Hotel Son Matias Beach is like? I liked the adults only bit! Is it reasonably well positioned for likely MF meet venues as it would be good to avoid taxis! Is it still sun bathing weather around this time?

Mike, you can't go wrong with the Son Matias. WS loves it there. Yozef has written an excellent review of it here in the reviews section. Ideally placed for the meet ups if we are similar to last year, one was dead opposite, the other was barely 50 yards away.

As Mark says I rate that hotel highly.In 2010 it (and Hotel Alicia in Cala Bona) were Thomson Group's most heavily booked hotels in their Majorca summer programme.I know why.Yozef rates it too.Their live nightly entertainment (different act every night) is top rate if you like that sort of thing which I do.I must say though that because of its popularity Thomson don't half load the price.5* prices for a 4* hotel.But people pay it.Pool is too small for the number of guests.That is my only criticism-but the beach is right outside.

OTT? You ain't kidding. £860 pp for a week in August. Over 200 each more than the St Lucia next door. Twice the price of others.

Can you really justify spending over £200 more? Possibly if money is no object.

But it is in October not August and the differential is a fair bit smaller. Also it offers beach plus child free which must be worth something?
