| We are thinking of the possibility of going to Majorca later in the year (Sep-Oct), but we will have a 6-7month old baby to cater for. I haven't done much research on holidaying with little'uns but wondered if anyone has any suggestions for decent child friendly accomodation. I would like a decent sized room and good location. Although I ask for hotels, a decent appartment might be an option too. Any advice is welcome.
We did stay in Palma Nova last year at the Son Matias beach hotel, so we know the layout of the area. |

| We went for it when our Kate was small but in a different part of Spain, it worked out well, I love walking and that what I done walked all over with our kate in the pram, she loved the pool as well.
If it was me and you can afford it as it is a bit pricey there is only one place I can think of, they have really big apartments and I cant fault the place, its really clean with lots of little pool areas, even having one that is really shallow and for kids, its really quite as well as the its expensive Ive never seen teens or hen and stag parties in there. Its location is between Palma Nova and Magaluf BUT I know last year they started work at the back of this road so that would need to be checked out first.
You cannot go wrong with Viva Palma Nova its my favourite place to stay. I would feel more confident i staying at this place with a baby than any other in that area. We went to the Son Matias for a look around last year and got turned away because we had my 14 year old with me, so looks like its an adult only place.
Hope this helps mac

| Just like to add our Kate was a real fussy eater, but for some reason she ate like a horse in Spain lol, we were running low on baby food and bought some over there and she loved it even more than back home lol. Forgot to say our Kate was about 14months when we went there and actually took her first steps there, we were shocked we looked round and she was standing in the room, there was no stopping her after that lol _________________ |

| Thanks for the replies. Tha hotel riva looks quite nice, I will look in more detail. We normally book a week deal through one of the agencies like Thomas Cook, so i haven't seen this hotel in any brochures. Maybe I can look at costing the flights and hotel seperately, although this normally works out more expensive I think. I see it is the no.2 hotel in Palma Nova according to trip advisor, 2nd to the Son Matias. I must admit that I thought the SM hotel was OK, but if it wasn't for the great view I wouldn't have been so impressed. Not that it was bad, maybe a little too old for me, although that has it's benefits of course, it was quiet and well bahaved! |

| in the viva the accommodation is big but as i said its expensive but i love the place, big sitting room with seperate bedroom and a nice ketchen area, for me a hotel room with a baby is a nono, wish i could afford there prices in the summer, you have to get the flights as soon as they release them to get the deals. _________________ |

Im not sure of the hotels but maybe consider an apartment to rent try www.ownerdirect.co.uk it may prove more flexible for you....?
We took ours from 6 months, and had no (extra) problems!! Also, baby food/nappies/wipes are in good supply (although different names) so I was well catered for after ten san miguels!!! |

| Last October I struggled with the weather a bit lol, if found it hot, but you can never tell, it is the beginning of October so I would say 8/10 the weather is nice but no Gaurantees, Ive been going the first or second week in October for many years and love the temperature, at night my wife finds it too cool, and wears a jumper or some sort of long sleeve top I never do Im still very much warm. If it rains it comes down in buckets but as I say I think I have been lucky and only been in one rain storm in October, I have been in several in the summer, but I have been there when its cloudy most days as well, there is no way of knowing, What I can say is there is more chance of rain and cloud in October then in the summer lol. I think temperature wise though it could be better for the baby, if you say your thinking of going in September if its the mid september to the end of september then I would say weather is more or less on par with the beginning of October anyway.
We are all booked up for different dates so sme of the gang might be there end of September anyway if your there then, but yes the meet up is 1st October if you want to come along all is welcome _________________ |

| Some colleagues just returned from the sol mirlos. Both couples have young children and felt this hotel met their needs well. They were bored with the food by the end of the week but no other issues. They tried to rebook for august and it's all booked sadly, not sure about sept. |

| To me if you get a big apartment then it will be great, a hotel room with a baby would not be as relaxing but thats just me lol, pram etc storage. The only other bit thats not great is the flight and the airport, I say the airport for delays etc but the flight is not that long but a little cramped well I think you know all that anyway, but once your there it will be ok. Its worrying taking a baby abroad, I know when we booked up we thought mmmmmmmmm have we done the right thing lol, we went in early September to the costa del sol and we had an apartment, It was still great and I think we went to maga the following year. _________________ |

| Did you take a look at my Bonaire aparthotel review Mac?
We took our youngest away to Ibiza when she was just 3 months old. We went in september so that it wouldn't be too hot, and there was no problems. |

I had a quick look, I seem to be very busy at the moment for some strange reason! it looks really nice from the photos. I guess the main reason I was looking at Palma Nova was because I know what it is like, so it is a safe option. I like to walk a lot and this is not so easy with a little'un, but with 4 long beaches (with great promenades) I can see hours of easy walking with the junior in her pushchair. |

| Sometimes Mac, it is better the devil you know sort of thing. But Mark's review is worth looking at to stopping there, as it was flat by the looks of his photo's, ideal for buggy pushing. _________________ Mick

That is a great point, when we went with the youngin to Costa Del Sol I had never been before, we booked because the hotel/apt had a 4 star rating, and I always thought costa del sol was really posh, rich people etc, I couldnt have got it more wrong lol. The apt was not the best in the world although the food was brilliant, the resort end that we were at was boring, although we were not to far away say 10 minute walk into Benelmadena which was interesting. But your right with PN at least its got a lovely flat walk, I never get bored with the views in that bay. _________________ |

| The walkway from Cala Bona is right down to Cala Millor Mac, it's about 2 miles, totally flat, bars and resto's all the way down, and pedestrianised totally, no cars, but there is a cycle path running through the middle of it.
But PN is just as good a choice. I was just chucking out some alternatives for you. |

| Just a thought Mac.... Take a look at this, its a great review from Debdon she stays at these apartments every year, they are just up from the Viva Palma Nova and would work out alot cheaper, go right down page one for all the photos. https://majorcaforum.forumotion.com/t4086-magaluf-playa-c-as-sabonersI got a price on these just as a bit of a test to compare, dont forget Majorca Forum have a discount code for these apts so it could be cheaper but this is direct on there site anyway. Playas Cas Soboners Viva Palma Nova A difference of €240's Thats the only problem with Viva the price but thats how it does not get stag and hen parties and rowdy teens. These two prices were for the same dates just as a tester for you. For some reason last year they started advertising it as being in Magaluf but its always been said its in Palma Nova so its a hard one that, it is however inbetween both and well away from any rowdy bars and there is no discos there at all. The lovely Debdon is the expert on the Saboners apts if you want any advice she is the girl. _________________ |
