Here is a little report about our trip to Mallorca and the resort of Santa Ponsa. These are the only photos I have as I took them on my phone. More may follow!
I love Mallorca and have been coming out here since 1982 in one guise or another!
Santa Ponsa is very close to our hearts, we have been coming out her for the best part of 14 years as a couple and now a family, my kids are 6 and 4. We bought our flat about ten years ago. We are pretty much on the front (snaps below).
Santa Ponsa has loads of stuff to do for all ages, lazing on the beach or round the pool, boat trips, sports activities, mooching round to the Marina or just getting lost on the bus. Also loads of decent bars and restaurants.
It is situated in a large bay and has hotels and villas along each side, some of which are very nice which gives a good mix of clientele in the resort.
There is a strip of bars which can be loud but not in the same league as the strip Magaluf, which incidentally is only 10 mins in a cab.
There is also a square up the top of the hill towards Costa de la Calma which has kids entertainment early evening and some excellent tribute bands afterwards, some good bars too!
If you walk back down toward the beach and around the bay (bit of a walk mind) you come to the Marina which is great to look at the boats and have a snack. There is also a cross up there that commemorates the landing of the Christians in 1229 and every September there is a festival throughout the resort that ends with a massive firework display.
Here is a couple of snaps from our balcony and roof terrace:

Most days were spent on the beach lazing around, however we often went up to a place called La Orlas which has a nice pool
Snaps of the pool and beach:
Boat trip. We took the 2 hour trip that takes you around the bay to Malgrats where you can jump off the boat! It then goes round to Camp de Mar. We got off at Peguera, had some lunch and had a couple of hours of the beach, we then got the 3.00 boat back to Santa Ponsa.
Western Waterpark Magaluf. We booked a 2 day pass and we went in the first and second week. This place is brilliant, with some great rides and a cracking diving show.
Expedition golf Magaluf. Good value for money 14euro for my little boy and I to play a round, good fun. Whilst in Magaluf we walked past the new Wave hotel, very cool.
Pedalo in Santa Ponsa bay. Got to do it haven’t you?! We got two out with some friends of ours 12euro for one hour each boat, wicked fun!
Restaurants. Didn’t really go mad this time, went to Crocs a few times, which is informal and good food. Miamis up by the square, always good Paella. Xaloc for lunch on our last day. Bar 8 for a wicked burger. And another one round the bay cant remember the name Las Perelas(?) but it is opposite Bar 8 really good food and has a great kids play areas, also the is a glass floor looking down into the wine cellar (Britchick may know).
Bars. Went to Burlington Beries, my kids love it in there. Traceys Bar, lovely girl, Bar Code, also good for the kids, had a quick one in the Kensington.
Finally my little boy is right into his football, so most days we went over to Santa Ponsa fc for a kick about. Have some great facilities and a good club house which is well reasonable:
So wrapping up a great time was had by all, I will try to get some more snaps on here too!!
