I will probably use a Euro loaded card this year to put my eggs in different Greek baskets, what do members recommend is the best card to go for and what are the costs of using them and do they have penalties for not using them.

I use the Fairfx version, and it suits me fine.

IMO the main difference between the cards is that some charge a token fee (Fairfx €1.50) for atm withdrawals, others don't.
The kick back is that Fairfx seem to consistently offer about a euro or so more than the other ones.
So if you draw out €100 + at a time it doesn't matter as you have 'paid' for your atm charge with your card loading rate.

Hope that makes sense.

The cards that don't charge are more suitable for people that will only draw out €20 or so at a time.

It appears to me that the Tesco and Sainsbury ones are all variations of the Travelex corp. These are the no atm charge cards.

so they give a lower rate of exhange then, now i did hear that if you dont use the card you are charged a fee. I assume if you did not use it and there were no euros on it they can't charge you?

I'm not sure on that one mate, Fairfx card doesn't charge a fee.

You do it on-line mate, and it comes in the post like any credit card, you then have to authorise it.
