just back from yet another fabulous stay at the wonderful son matias hotel,which has undergone a superb refurb,the place was nice before but it's really plush now.

the hotel operates a adults only policy (no children under 16) and is very popular with the older traveller,this reflects in the menu and entertainment,which imo is top notch,the food is very good and we have never seen a poor show.

the hotels location is superb,use your rooms swipe card on the gate by the pool and you gain direct access after crossing the lovely prom,to the beach where some of the daytime activities are held,french boules for one,which i really enjoyed playing.

the hotel is L shaped so all rooms have sea views,we prefer a pool view as you get the sun longer here,and if possible request a high floor so your view is not spoilt by the palm trees.

i will now add some photo's of the refurb,those of you who have been to the hotel will notice the difference.

remember the smaller pool,well that has been covered over and there are now three large circular relaxation beds there now which are extremely comfortable.

also the area where there used to be the electronic dartboard has been altered to a slightly raised area which allows for a lot more seating.

the refurb includes new outdoor furniture,sunbeds,indoor furniture and plush bar stools (my favourite seat)

and now some photo's of the restaurant area,the food here is really good.we are fussy eaters but always found something we liked.

you may want to go on a diet before you stay at this hotel,lol,wish i had.

if i had one complaint it was my breakfast was slightly cold one morning,even though i used a hot plate,apart from that everything was faultless.

the staff are very quick in clearing dishes inbetween courses,i hate it when they leave dirty dishes on your table.

the staff here are very friendly and enjoy a bit of banter with you.
