| Back last Friday from wonderful Palma Nova. The Hawaii Hotel was ok for a 3*. Location is fantastic. Reception was clean and bright. We found staff were not very welcoming apart from 1 girl on reception and the PR girl. Staff in the dining room were not very helpful at all. Food was often lukewarm - and that was going in when the doors opened, not after the food had been sitting for a while. They were very slow at clearing tables for other diners, we often saw people having to clear the tables themselves. The kitchen staff on the other hand were always filling up trays of food as they became empty. We were half board and had to pay for drinks in the dining room. We only drank water which was dear for a small bottle - we made one do between two of us.
We had a sea view room that looked over the beaches, and also Palma Nova and Torrenova - it was lovely at night to see the street, shop and hotel lights shining on the sea. The room was a good size and beds were comfortable. Rooms were cleaned regularly and beds made daily. Considering the area you are in once you close the balcony doors at night you can't hear any noise outside. There is no extra charge for air conditioning, as there is in some hotels. The only other charge we had at the hotel was for a safe deposit box - something I wouldn't be without.
One thing they don't tell you at the hotel is that there is a lift down to the pool area and this can also be used to go to the beach and promenade into Palma Nova. This avoids the steep hill and was very welcome especially coming back to the hotel.
For those who are interested, English speaking TV is two channels - BBC World News and Sky News.
Hotel is in an ideal location for Torrenova, Palma Nova and Magaluf. |

| I will second that nirishdaisy, a great review. I stayed at the Hawaii Apartments a few years ago, just a bit further up & they were fantastic. Great location & views & the only downside was going up the hill from the Palma Nova end Mick |

| Thats a brilliant review about the Hawaii and Im very sad to see that holiday makers are still having to clear there own tables its really annoying, Ive stayed at this hotel a few times now and had the same problems as you. The location is fantastic for views food wise we always found it fine. at night using the bar in the concert room we found the staff none to happy but I suppose night after night serving in that heat must take its toll but if thats the job you do then you should try and make an effort. Other things I dont like about the hotel is the pool size is far to small and the lack of sunbeds peak season. The entertainment was pretty good and I find the kids get well looked after and entertained mind its been a few years since we were there. I would go back but only at a good price. Another thing worth mentioning is if you go early season as we did once in March the pool bar does not open at all and you have to go up the lift or walk up all them stairs to get drinks for the pool. October the sun does not stay around the pool area for very long this is the same early season as it disapears behind the hill. To sum up this hotel
good size rooms and always clean food always edible and things for kids to eat but service is very slow ,so slow you sometimes have to clear the tables yourself entertainment pretty good especialy for kids day and night bar staff have long faces always lol pool bar not open early season so you have to use the stairs or lift for drinks pool a bit too small for size of hotel but you are right by the sea also not enough sunbeds _________________ |

| Just to be clear as well HH, there are now three separate 'hotels' in the group, what used to be the Waikiki Suites across the road has been taken over by them and refurbed. The other one is the one Mick stayed in last year, Hawaii Apartments. |

| Just a couple of pics of the new pools in the main Hawaii hotel, look very nice. I also noticed that the glass screen around the pools had been renewed and wasn't so high. |

| Nice addition Mark thanks. I have stayed at this hotel a few times with mixed reviews, some great some parts not so good. I can also add the pool area is a sun trap throughout the summer months but once it hits October the sun is lower and this area is shaded much earlier on in the afternoon. _________________ |
