Went to see a friend that lives in Poole, Dorset, yesterday, and we took a half hour trip up the road from his place to the adjacent resorts, drove through some really picturesque villages but no pictures of those, but just a few pics here to show you what the coastline is like down on this stretch.
Lulworth Cove was formed by a stream down from the mountains/nearby hills over the years, it's made a haven for oysters and various shellfish, there's still fishing going in but it's restricted to a few local boats now. More of a tourist destination because of the rock formations, you can see where earthquakes from millions of years ago have shifted the crust upwards and exposed layers and layers that go back from 160 million years ago to 65 million years ago.
The tide has further washed away the first line of rocks, called Portland Stone, and exposed the softer limestone layers.
