We are Steve and Jill, UK citizens but permanently resident pensioners in Alicante region. We holiday, occasionally, in Mallorca and will be in s'Arenal for 2 weeks from 1 April. Any advice about good places to eat or places to visit or things to do would be appreciated. We enjoy all sorts of cuisines and all sorts of prices from cheap eats to fine dining. Thanks in advance. S & J

Nice to have you here, enjoy.
Arenal gets a bit rowdy during peak season, mainly with German visitors, Ballerman they call it, hopefully be 'nicer' in April. We've (mid 50's) been visiting Can Pastilla for the last few years, wandered over to Arenal one day & got the bus back within an hour, wasn't for us. Was high season admittedly so sorry can't recommend anywhere in Arenal. Hopefully you'll have a grand time though

Steve & Jill.
Sorry I can't offer any specific advice on the Arenal area, I've been there but I stay elsewhere (Palmanova) mostly.
All I can say is that the season doesn't get properly going until May, so don't expect everywhere to be open in early April

Hello and welcome to the forum....
Your not going to believe this but I can't help with that area either but I do prefer low season these days so it should be fine ( no teenage drunken kids).
What's the weather like in Alicante these days, I have an old school friend that live in Benidorm ( singer) I get very jealous looking at his sunny photos

Welcome to the forum.
the only time Ive been to Arenal was back in 1982 when I was 10, reckon it might have changed a bit since then!!
Enjoy anyway, its a good base to explore!

Thanks anyway. |The weather has been quite good for the time of year, regular sunny days and about 22c during the day, 12-13 at night.

We will be amongst the Spanish pensioners that invade the island in the low season,
Although we are full board, it gets a bit boring eating at the same place every day so we like to get out and about a bit.
We like Palma a lot and have a favourite restaurant that we always visit whilst there, L'ambigu.
Has anyone any suggestions for places to visit by bus. We will definitely going to visit Palma again.

I like golf fantasia in Palma Nova although their is a bigger crazy golf in Magaluf now.
Always wanted to visit Valldemossa as well, one day we will.
If we get to cala dor this year I will take a visit to the Caves of Drach another place we always wanted to visit.
The pirates show in Magaluf is good night out however it's been about 15 years since we saw it last.
I also love Palma, we had a night out there with Mick a couple of years back lovely little bars and restaurants.
I love walking around natural places and one such place again on my bucket list is Serra de Tramuntana again one day I might get there if I can get away from the Piano Bar in Magaluf lol.

Might be a bit of an off beat suggestion of a place to visit, but one year, when we visited in April, we went on the vineyard tour of the winemaker Jose Ferrer, it's in the small town of Binnissalem, located centrally, near Inca. Beautiful wine, but if one of you is driving you'll have to spit it out!
But the Town itself is beautiful and traditional, great to walk around in and have Tapas in the central square.
