| The Marina Torrenova is based about 200metres up a hill. IMO gradient is about 30 degrees and if you are unfit one will be puffing by the time you reach the hotel. As the week goes on one does get used to it and it doesn’t seem so bad. However the road to Magaluf is steeper but there is a small alley way behind the hotel which runs to the side of its swimming pool and leads one up to some steps which go to the main entrance. I would not recommend this for the disabled unless you stayed AI. On arrival we were given a room at the front of the hotel which overlooked a road. I went to reception and they changed it immediately for a room overlooking the swimming pool which we preferred. Although the sun sets that side and the balcony would be extremely hot in the summer, so you would have to decide if you want a cool balcony on the road side or a hot balcony overlooking the pool. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms have both bath and a shower attachment and towels were changed when one put them in the bath as an indicator. There are also a number of other hotels overlooking in the vicinity which may result in noise but we did not experience any in October. The rooms are air conditioned but it switches off, if one opens the patio door or you remove your key card from its slot. I did check that an old telephone card would substitute and worked as our Daryn suggested. Each room has a safe costing 18 euro’s a week + 3 euro’s deposit. Hire of a kettle 12 euro’s a week or 20 euro’s for two weeks. The TV is for hire and would require 10 euro’s deposit for the remote but not sure if this service is free, one can also upgrade to AI for 15 euro’s a day. There is a fridge in the room which is free. Chair beds were in abundance around the two pools but come July/August there wouldn’t be a lot of room around the two pools. There is entertainment laid on but I did not watch any and during the day there are quizzes etc around the pool. On looking at the bar prices they are expensive. Breakfast was IMO very good, every possible thing you could want but with one down fall, coffee and tea are provided by machines and both cups are weak. Part the way through the holiday we did noticed a tin of decaffeinated coffee which we added to machines mixture. My recommendation would be to bring your own tea and coffee. Orange juice from one machine tasted foul but the other it was just acceptable. The evening meals I wasn’t in raptures over I had two poor meals and two good ones and one of average standard. No tea or coffee machines were available in the evenings and you have to buy drinks if you are not AI. Finally kiddies corner All in All would go again if it was either B&B or a discounted half board price.

| Thanx for the review. How could you possibly eat that under-cooked bacon? And to pay extra for a TV? But you did get a fridge which I didn't in Sol Mirlos.Don't fancy your hotel. |

| Bacon was fine perfectly cooked (flash on camera makes it look bright). The hotel was the best discounted by Thomson's we could find without going into Magaluf. Not sure if TV was just a deposit for remote as never used it. |

| I thought the hotel looked nice, think the tv would just be a deposit for the remote and you would get it back at the end of your stay, its good that the fridge is free, well done and great photos, I bet they thought you were from watch dog taking them photos in the restaurant lol. _________________ |

| We first stayed at the Marina Torrenova 4 years ago when it was a Thomson Superfamily hotel on a half board basis and really enjoyed our stay there but as you could only book with Thomsons it was quite expensive so we tried other hotels after that - Hotel Hawaii and Sol Mirlos/Tordos. Now the hotel is available to book through Thomas Cook, First Choice and Direct Holidays as well as being able to book online DIY and is now All Inclusive . However the hotel manager did inform me that next year they are at the moment in talks with it being a Thomas Cook 'exclusive'. We arrived at approx 1am and were greeted by the reception staff who were extremley helpful and although the restaurant was closed and the bar had just also closed we were offered a meal and drinks. I had emailed the hotel approx 2 weeks before going asking for a pool view and we were given rooms 541 & 542 which were on the 4th floor and both overlooked all three pools and we even had a sea view which was perfect. Rooms were big enough for the 3 of us staying in each room and were clean and tidy. There was a fridge, TV and hairdyer in the rooms which came in handy. The maid came in everday with fresh towels and did a great job of cleaning it for us. Last time we had stayed here there were only 2 pools and a 'all weather court' which has now been changed into a 'splash pool' for 2011 which is great for kids. Also the inside area has new seating furniture for 2011 and the entertainment is now all indoors as there were problems with the sound system for outside but they are hoping to get it all working again soon they said. The entertainment staff- Alex, Ruben, Sally, Kaisha and Dana were fantastic both with the adults and kids and there was always something going on to join in- Rifle Shooting, Water Polo, Table Tennis, Aqua areobics, Killer Pool and Darts aswell as Marina games and Pool games. They all worked so hard from 10 am right up until 11pm and nothing was too much trouble for them. Ruben was hilarious. Night time was mini disco for the younger kids eariler on followed by something else like a Falcon Show or Reptile show, then bingo which was 210 euros for the winner when we were there and then the evening show was either something from the entertainers like Grease show or they had outside people come into the hotel like The Beatles, A comedian or hypnotist etc. The breakfasts were excellent with English sausages and bacon and hash browns, eggs, fried bread, continential or cereals and then a choice of cakes, or cold cheese, ham etc. Juices and tea, coffee machines were great too. Snacks were the usual salad/meat bar and hamburgers, nuggets, hotdogs & chips, toasties etc. Lunch and dinner there was always a great choice of dishes chicken, pork, fish or curry dishes and the children had a section all of their own. They also had themed nights and some nights there was a great carvey option. There was always something for everyone. There was also beer, wine, water and soft drinks which you helped yourself too in the restaurant. Outside was a small Italian restaurant which you had to book 24hrs in advance and could go once each week. We never went although we did intend on going but never got round to it but did ask people who had who all said it was fantastic. The bar staff worked really hard and were always pleasant and friendly, even when there was a queue it was only for a couple of minutes and there was no restriction of how many drinks you could have. Towards the end of my holiday they were simply saying to me 'usual' We booked the water park through the rep there which I have never done but Thomas Cook did a price match so I priced it outside and they matched it for me and also included free transport, queue jump tickets and some euros off food inside the park. We all loved is so much we will be returning next year and we had friends staying in the Hawaii apts across the way who came over to see us and they also want to book this for next year. :-bd: Regards Julie |

| Oh I also forgot to mention the sunbed rush in a morning . Well if you wanted a sunbed in a particular place then most people put their towels in a queue by the door from about 7 am (some even earlier) and either waited on the chairs inside or went back to bed as the doors were not unlocked until 8.30am then there was a mad dash which was quite funny to watch from the balcony. There were even a couple of arguments over who put their towels in line first which was also quite funny. However there were always sunbeds still available even in the afternoon. If beds were not used after an hour then the towels were removed and there were notices advising this. Regards Julie |

| We stayed here in october 08 with my twin stepdaughters. We were in Palma Nova in the september so popped in and saw the receptionist and asked for 2 poolview rooms and followed this up with an email when we got home to Jose. When we arrived in the October and were shown our poolview rooms i have to say we didnt like them. Jose had shown us to our rooms and could see we didnt like them,he immediately said, would you like seaview rooms and took us up to 2 lovely rooms which we were really pleased with.I then asked if i could hire a kettle. He went and fetched me one and wouldnt let me pay for it!Throughout the week we had fantastic customer service from all the staff. The food is not brilliant but is ok, all in all we would stay here again as we really enjoyed the week here. One of my stepdaughters has booked to stay here with her friend next year. I have to say that although we will worry about her a little as it is her first holiday without parents we are pleased she is staying somewhere that we know she will be safe.

| we are just back from our holiday at the Marina Torrenova and we both enjoyed it very much. We had asked for a pool view and I high floor and we got both. We found that the last three night of our stay the aircon was not on. We ended up sleeping with the balcony door open. We also had difficulty with our key opening the door. It took ages. These are only minor things. We enjoyed the food. Our room was cleaned by a very friendly lady. We would go back afain |
