| I just read in the Bulletin that balconing is now the responsibilty of the individual and not the hotels.
Now of course you are responsible for your own behaviour but I just think that the hotels will not spend any money on increasing the height of them in the first place or at least give a warning as to the danger.
The balconies in Mallorca (or maybe in Spain as a whole) are lower then the rest of Europe and accidents will happen not just through irresponsible behaviour.
I know a few people in Mallorca have campaigned for balcolnies to be raised in line with the rest of Europe, this will give the hotels the excuse not to bother. |

| Well really it is down to the individual, if your going to get plastered and play around outside on the balcony its a recipe for disaster TBH but this is why people go on holiday to have fun and let themselves go.
I guess we see/read about more accidents happen in Spain than anywhere else in Europe because its a more popular holiday destination so more people more chance of reading about accidents.
Mind saying all that how much would it cost the hotel to place an extra bar 12"/18'' higher above the one they already have, no need to replace the whole thing really. _________________ |

| Daryn, thats my point, I was thinking about the safety issue.
This bacolning thing is not new, I remember when I first went to Arenal in 82, there were a bunch of lads jumping from great hieght into the pool.

| Yeah lads can be really stupid egging each other on Ive seen some stupid things my mates have done in the past like walking over the metal work of bridges etc, fortunately I was never into peer pressure so just watched them doing it. _________________ |

| Yea, some lads can be right idiots, just asking for trouble.

| I see there was a death in Benidorm last week from a balcony incident, so it's not just majorca that gets it. |

| I think if you do the deed, you should be responsible for the consequences. Even if the hotels raise the height, which having a 5 year old I am all in favour of, the feckin eejits that do this mental thing will still find a way. |

| 4th, of course, I can't stand to see these young blokes acting like this, I never did but still always had a top laugh.
I think my point here is purely a safety issue. |
