If you are visiting Soller in May I have to warn you about a festival called 'Es Firo'.

It takes over the town and port for the day, hotels lock their clients inside, and although it is fantastic if you are visiting with children you may want to keep them inside for the day due to fireworks, shotguns, smoke, loud bangs, drinking etc.

The whole town is crazy this day and although extra police and Guardia Civil are bought in they really can not control this party.

You would never be able to get away with something like this in England.

Don't where nice clothes on this day, you will get dirty, or expect to be able to eat out and have a normal drink.
