| Day 6, Friday I was awake by 7:15am, listen very carefully I will do this only once lol, I'm in time to get the sunrise, shorts and tee shirt on, no time to give Mrs Db her cup of tea, this is important blinking heck, it's cloudy I kid you not, there was two pairs of people, sitting on the rocks in budha fashion, also waiting for the sun to come up but within 30 minutes the sun had broken through a diving boat was off out from the marnia but for us another beach day, can we sit down there Mrs Db no move along a bit with Mrs Db settled, I was heading to town to se what had changed there, this time I didnt pick siesta time with everything closed lol Have a look at the town small beach, you might not see it again lol so we start at the bottom with the Spar store a perfume shop opposite cafe icecream shop and another perfume shop same side a tobacconist drinks store and then a sports shop a new shop just being refurbished and worked on a mexican restaurant above, we ate in last year side road The tobacconist under the mexican invited me in to take photo lol, so Delboy obliged I can zoom in if anybody wants duty free prices lol Mrs Db would be cringing if she were here lol and don't for get our drinks said the Asian lady a lot of the bottles are individually labelled so will be hard to pick up the prices but not beaten yet lol a clothes shops yet another perfume shop electronic store, a word of warning, there are no such thing as cheap cameras or video recorder, lap tops or ipads in Lanzarote. Jewellery / watches shop a lot of perfume shops lol loads of clothes shops another jewellers another electronic shop, I repeat my warning, there are no cheap cameras in Lanzarote a beauty shop with perfumes lol Tobacconist and drinks tourist place that do CustomerTravel tour etc, new this year, they have on in the marina as well bric a brac stuff icecream parlour another jewellers, not sure what you would do if your new watch that you bought went wrong large beer in happy hour was 1.5 euro's shoe world lol two fashion stores one something to do with Boss lol cases and goods shop Tobacconist and Drinks store, most do exchange, the general rate was 1.19 but inside here that is only for travellers cheques, cash was 1.18, there was a little notice on the left of the store but it seem to have got blown away that day lol perfumery again an amusement place coming up to the harbour now This is a new interesting place a fish spa, where people stick their feet into tanks of fish for the fish to eat peoples skin, I read somewhere that the process is said to be unhygienic a bar The mexican place which use to be our favourite but not the best meal this time around This place has bad reviews on TA for their dealings with people more dress shops although I have a pic of every shop in town I'm up by the harbour now so will stop at the tapas bar and pop round the harbour the flat bottom glass boat was in, so I thought I would have a look, it goes over to Fuerteventure but as a poor sailor it would be a no no for me ok if the water is smooth marina from the harbour lol town's beach again, so you can see it again heading back to Mrs Db The fish in the harbour that you can't fish for lol (they know) not a good boat to have back at the beach here are the pleasure fees I think I'll stick with the beach lol or a pint and lunch in Barney's They also do pasta but I had a toasted sandwich and shared chips The rest of the afternoon was spent on the beach, not sure if that was the tall chips challenger but I must be in the running by now lol We as arrange to meet Jomark and his lovely wife from the Lanzarote forum and chatted for an hour over coffee's at momentos para llevars but not before having look over the wall at the Princesa Yaiza's apartment which are accessed through a tunnel I heard lol sunset was low key tonight but a nice sky now here comes a tale, the TV has two arab channels that continue to show English speaking movies with arab subtitles which hardly show on the screen, tonight 6-8pm it was Karate Kid the new one, Delboy your bath water is running but the nasty sensei has just told his pupil to break Daniel son's leg in the semi final, I can't leave it now It sure passed that bit of time waiting to go out to dinner which mean't I had to jump into the bath and get ready quicker Tonight we ate first time in the Trattoria I had the mexican chicken, I think my chicken had lived a very long life but at 7.5 euro's a filling meal lol Mrs Db had kebabs another lovely day had passed |

| Day 7, Saturday we awoke to hear the problems with air traffic control and hoped it would soon be sorted for us it was another beach day but by lunchtime it had clouded over so we went up to Barney's for lunch, at this point I realised that I could be doing a review of the best burgers in town, so I thought I would have some thing more sensible Lasagna Mrs Db had the tagatelli Then it was football showing back at the apartment in the bar area after which I needed some more groceries, now if you don't have things these are the sort of prices you will get locally only a medioca sunset tonight tonight we were dining at the Little Marmite at the ebd of the Marina I had Lamb chops, maybe it was because I only had Lasagna earlier that it didn't seem quite so big to eat Mrs Db had pork chops in a sauce However, when the temptation came around for desserts, we buckled The Crepes were to die for, I had chocolate sauce in mine Mrs Db had lemon in her's it has a nice atmosphere there, sitting semi outside undercover After asking for the bill we did get forgotten but the lady gave us two measures of bailey's for our troubles. Mrs Db was very cold by the time we reached our apartments not waiting for me to take a picture of the moon lol. On arriving a text came through from jomark saying they would be at Vino Blanco at the marina if we wanted a nightcap, I had just taken a picture of that lol Mrs Jomark had a cocktail that Delboy would have been proud of, except it didnt have any drambuie in it, infact it didn't have anything in it as she was driving we chatted together for a hour and a half, it was nice to meet them both Another day ended

| Great stuff Del. That Yaiza (sp ?) hotel, the pool looked pretty shady, what time of day did you take that picture?
Also, in the tabacs shop, the first pics, where those €5 & €6 for 200 ciggies? The Superkings at €25.99, just to compare, are €42 in Majorca. Over £65 here, don't know exactly what they sell for. |

| The Yaiza pool was taken at 5.32pm Mark , sunset is 6.45pm the Yaiza is a 5 star hotel and very expensive, they have a tunnel running under the road from the Yaiza Hotel which overlooks the sea to these apartments |

| Day 8, Sunday from looking at Fuerteventura through the camera lens it was looking the clearest day so far and I was itching to go back up the volcano to get some new shots with my camera Also there is a famous cake shop down at Faro Park that everybody talks of that I wanted to investigate. Mrs Db was going to have a morning around the pool whilst I attempt to get to the volcano by the no 30 bus this year so it was a walk up to the roundabout from the marina to the bus stop I had already spotted the bus stop times the previous day The buses run to time here, as there is no traffic or rush hour I had arranged to be back to Mrs Db for lunchtime and set off early, well 10am lol I asked the driver to call out the nearest stop but he didn't, but it was fairly obvious I recognised the Paradise Island hotel from the previous trip then it is was basically head for the volcano which has several paths all leading into the same direction I ended up going down this road which sort of came into the pathway a little way up lol The was no one ahead of me which is good for photographs so just sit back and see the walk looking down there was a party coming up, which would get in the way of the view So this will give you an idea of what shoes to wear I take a picture every so often Hey, what happened to my little red stone I placed here 3 years ago where did he come from lol he's obviously not puffing as much as me here we are at the top, wasn't too bad was it lol, as shot from 2001 (the film lol) and the little white box now the views, little disappointed with the angle of the sun and the strong wind blowing which was difficult to hold the camera steady sometimes, I think late afternoon would be better with the sun much lower so a sweep across from the back of PB to the sea, I do have panoramic pictures which dont help the text so will do some seperately and link them in for those that can view them walking around on the top what it looks like inside down below the Rubicon Palace I didn't look around their pool area lol I think this is the Natura Palace so heading towards the lighthouse end I needed to move on to the highest point Fuerteventura wasn't in favour today due to the bright sunlight Last time I missed Faro Park, where a lot of villa's are for rent but you really need a car fot that location This is where the famous cake shop is that I will try and get to if I have time now could I save time and get inside the cake shop from here lol well at the highest point but no Hillary Tenzing book to sign here It really stunning up here so one last look at Fuerteventura in the sunlight and the good shots I coundn't take and the last block of villa's at the very end then passed the piles of stones from walkers leaving their mark a quick walk down to the basement lol I don't know the sentiment behind this one but I hope my Rodneys feeding himself ok whilst we are away lol Then quicker way down lol Now If I was going to have lunch with Mrs Db I would have to forget Faro Park and perhaps go another day but after my descent I came out to the bus stop at the Natura Palace, only to find I had just missed a bus, with another 25 minute wait. So I popped over the otherside of the road to see what time the bus ran to Faro Park and one was due any minute. I quickly texted Mrs Db and said I'm going to Faro Park and perhaps have a cake there but Mrs Db would have a snack in the pool bar, so sorted so here I am at Faro Park, looking for a cake lol I went up and down twice looking for the cake shop but couldn't spot it, I even went into a supermaket asking for the famous cake shop, she pointed to a fridge at the front even thought of texting Jomark but it was his last day here Then I saw the Lighthouse which has internet and printers facilities, not to be confused with the Lighthouse itself lol I saw the turkey bagette I think I ordered a christmas turkey thing but the lady said we only have on table left love, can I have it then, You go and sit down love and I'll tell you when it's ready. I sat at the table and others were being called and they came back with big dinners. Suddenly I saw a notice outside. TEXT to Mrs Db, I think I have just ordered Christmas dinner Lucky you came the reply, I havent had anything yet. Well fortunately it was a carvery and you could help ourself to the potatoes etc, If I was an ex pat I would eat here every Sunday but the question was, could I eat this and still eat out tonight lol Across the table I spoke to two ex pats, asking them if they knew of the cake shop, "yes just two stores down", came the reply. How did I miss it twice The couple had lived here for a few years and I asked if they liked the life and they said the first few years was nice here but are now looking for a second place in the UK as they miss certain things over in the UK Anyway rather full, the couple did suggested I walk back from the lighthouse, to burn it all off and buy Mrs Db a cake Anyway, here it is too full to buy a cake I approached the three ladies and said can I take pictures what for they said, well just to show the forum a lady arranged them together and said you really should comeback at 8am when the counters are loaded anyway I said farewell to Faro Park and headed for the bus stop a flat rate fare and now heading back to Mrs Db, with the old proverb of "you can't have a cake or eat it too" ringing in my ears Mrs Db hadn't eaten anything, so I went to the apartment bar and ordered her a chicken toasted sandwich, well what else could I do I think Mrs Db might fancy a cruise next year to keep me in lol, no sunset it had clouded over tonight we ate inthe Tipico Canario on the harbour front I had chicken cordon bleu lovely light batter around it (lucky for me) and a nice run down to the sea edge if needed lol Mrs Db had peppered steak with the sauce in a separate bowl The house red was 9.25 euro's an nice evening End of Day 8

| Day 9, Monday a bit of a wind today, not a beach day a bigger disaster, the new jar of marmalade I bought turned out to be peach marmalade, well they looked the same on the jar the Armas ferry was getting a bit of a spray on it's front but an easy choice to go for a walk so heading towards papagaya I noticed another Japanese menu also a crazy golf working that have not noticed before So having done the walk last year, I cut short but we are heading to the AI hotels area in the distance so turning left here passed the Dream Castillo so now heading for Ropers that I heard about for their good meat and fish cycle hire just next to the cafe there is an archway into a square with a cafe in which is run by Ropers inside they had a nice deli the beef looked nice for those in villas doing barbeques Our cereal was 30 cents cheaper here but not worth the long walk to get it They also had a fish counter the highlight of the morning was two lobsters having a barney but their claws were taped, however, perhaps they were being kepted for the big fight in the fish spa and the booze after the store browse we walked right to the back of town but apart from missing and cracked drain covers there was nothing exciting to report Then it was a shelterd spot at Lani's snack bar a chicken burger for me, not having the bacon lol Mrs Db had another toastie and the piranhas below finished the rest of my roll I spent the rest of the afternoon watching Harry Potter and the black bellied prince or something like that lol This evening we were going to try Cervantes in the high st opposite the church, it would be less windy It doesn't have a sea view I had fillet steak with peppered sauce and my steak cut like butter, delicous Mrs Db has beef stroganoff, and the beef was fillet steak cut up, excellent she said a lovely meal and end of day 9

| Day 10, Tuesday batten down the hatches, it's not a beach day as far as I'm aware Fred Olsen was the only one to do a run, Thomson tours to Fureteventura had been cancelled The red flag was out on the beaches going into town for a walk half the town's beach had got washed away leaving a foot ledge and a destroyed sand dragon quite windy on the front so we looked at prices of drink in the tobacconist we usually exchange in they seem fairly competitive against the others for honey rum etc here is their little notice in place today for the 1.19 rate only applying to travellers cheques lol where is Las Brisas, it's by the bus garage, lets go and look for that Suddenly a lady leaped out from nowhere, are you British and friendly, well yes, don't worry I'm not selling you anything we are doing a special promotion and you might win a bottle of champagne or something, scatching off two tickets as she gave them to us. lol I of course had 4 flags the top prize but poor Mrs Db didn't win at all. my ticket lol Mrs Db notice the bar that goes straight across the if remove void box on mine, whereas Mrs Db loing ticket the bar stops at the void box lol which indicates a winning ticket to the provider, don't get caught out with this timeshare stuff Now the Las Brisas apartments, reception was closed so I had a peek in for lunch we went back to the mexican restaurant as we knew they had proper windows looking out to sea. Notice no ferries and haven't seen any since Fred Olson went off this morning the weather seemed to be getting worse I went for a burger as I fancied a change lol well the one at Barney's was IMO better Mrs Db had another toastie and the resto just didnt do it for us this year a poor fishing boat was making for shelter in the marina from the harbour, I would want to be on that for all the tea in China now the Bahia Rock had a big refurishment done this last year, so Delboy wanted to investigate as it's now classified as an adult boutique hotel I had passed the entrance earlier in the holiday it looked good but Mrs Db didn't want to go in lol look if your interested in it, you need to see it first hand, hi im delboy, i may be interested in booking next year could I have a look around and do you have a brochure. We only have the website at the moment Mr Delboy as we have only been open for three weeks, but please look around, thank you miss looked nice Thos Cook are one of their operators at the mo I was quite impressed so will bear this one in mind for the future but won't have a sea view and some will likely overlook the road on the way back, the amazing hedges of the Princesa Yaiza down the side back on the front it hadn't improved, so back to town lol Now Mrs Db, will it be caramel vodka or honey rum lol so it was evening and we decided to go to Lani's as the weather was rotten there was a lady singer as entertainment we both picked chicken burritos from their mexican section, which was really nice whilst four girls outside braved it and ordered a meal lol a nice evening and end of day 10 |

| Day 11, Wednesday The weather looks worse this morning Mrs Db, no Fred Olsen this morning, we both thought Fred had got one trip in at 6pm last night and went back to Fureteventura 15 minutes later so I went on the internet, 1 euro per 20 minutes in the apartments I just read something about a boat running aground around the Lanzarote Park area, do you fancy going Mrs Db, "is it far", no only on the headland passed the harbour, "well alright", she said oh no red flag up yet lol oh the prom has been sealed off well I think I will go back and read my kindle, said Mrs Db but you go ahead a check it out lol wow it does even give you 10 seconds to get through if you wanted to lol this is just a camera man's delight, never seen it like this before ok it's round the road then lol the poor town beach is nearly washed away and although not as sever as the other area, i was concerned in keeping my camera dry I went down as far as the Timanfaya Palace just to check out a mast with a sail but it turned out to be a flag pole I didn't see any boats moving today a guy had a surf board on Dorada beach In the afternoon I watched two good films, when you get to my age you forget the titles and within three weeks you can't remember seeing the films lol lunch was in the apartment bar, where Mrs Db had a tuna bagette which looked really nice I had a toastie and we shared the chips Tonight we were going to Cevantes as it is away from the wind and inside I was going to try the T-Bone steak for 14 euro's the same meal in Lani's was 21 euro's lol I kid you not it was massive lol Mrs Db had the fillet steak in peppercorn sauce, which she said was lovely house red was 10 euro's what another wonderful meal finished with coffee's end of Day 11 |

| Day 12, Thursday It's calming down a bit Mrs Db Fred Olsen is working, I haven't seen Armas yet after a long morning in the apartment we decided to go into town so it was coffee in the Le Brisas, a bit like looking out on Eastbourne prom on a November day lol after coffee, we had a wander around, as it was too early for lunch, I noticed these cocktails for 4.75 euro's, although "sex on the beach" wasn't very appealing at the moment The glassbottom boat is going out lol and good luck to them lol Fred Olsen is coming in again it was swaying some what, as it reversed in with those heavy lorries people discussing the beach or lack of it no sure whether the beach will recover, surely they must have had worse storms than this now passing the new Asia restaurant, I had a look in and they have some fantastic chandeliers right grandad, release the bolt, rodney and I are ready, ok delboy lol anyway we decided to go undercover in the Le Brisas again for lunch I had the toastie Mrs Db had the unhealthy burger lol so now heading back to the apartment the beach is deserted I noticed one of the large yachts previously inside the marina was outside sitting out in the waves now if it stays out there and we ever get another sunset that would be good in the foreground So now back on our balcony I noticed a small dingy go out suddenly the biggest cruiser I have ever seen is being escorted to the harbour could it be Abramovich or some soul trying to avoid listening to the new Cliff Richard Christmas single lol the cruiser stood outside the marina for 20 minutes or so, whilst they tried to make room for it to get in and the tall sailing ship outside must have had to move out of the way finally it goes in and Delboy grabs his camera to go and investigate who is coming in conversations between yachters tell me it is some London stockbroker and the boat is registering London I noticed one of the marina ladies was heavily involved in the organisation of mooring etc, so I went over and asked her lol Oh we never know who owns the boats, she replied ......hmm but within 15 minutes on the internet I found out the boat was owned by Solomon Lew an Australian textile billionaire, his company has two boats but of course it could have been on hire In the meantime I noticed the sun had half come out, so I race around the marina to get a shot with the boats outside, taking this small yacht first the sun was coming out more, now for the big yacht heck, it's moving and I'm chasing down the prom, to keep the sun in line lol last chance as it goes in the marina lol tonight we would eat in the Volcan de Timanfaya for the second time as the wind had dropped I had the fillet steak with rochefort sauce again, it did come out too rare for me but no problem they cooked it a bit more for me and readded the sauce Mrs Db had the mixed kebab with different meats bothe were very nice and we pondered whether tomorrow would have better weather End of Day 12
