Had a 3 night break in Magaluf and chose the Sol Y Vera apartments for my accommodation as Mick has used the place for years.
We both had apartments on the 9th floor with a sea view on one side
The hills facing the back of the resort. Look at how wet the place is it stotted down that morning. The hotel in front is the Sol Gaudalupe.
On entering the apartment the first thing you notice is the long corridor leading straight to the lounge area with the bedroom and bathroom on the left.
A small kitchenette with fridge kettle didnt really have a good rummage around the cupboards as we ate out every day but the cups were nice and clean and as was the units and fridge.
These seats were very comfy and had a tv above them that I never used TBH
A good sized bathroom with lovely hot water, the shower door wasnt working perfect but not enough to complain about, I got in no problem got showered no problem and had lots and I mean lots of fresh towels to last the 3 days I was there.
Now for the bedroom, what can I say its not the ritz but again nice and clean, the beds were comfy it served its purpose.
A very small cupboard to the right with hanging space a few draws and the safety deposit box, it was very small but worked for me, I think 2 weeks worth of clothes for 2 people might be a squeeze but because of the size of the apartment sure other areas could also be used.
Ok I paid €90 for the 3 nights thats approx £74 now thats what I call good value for a cheap 3 night break its all you want, somewhere to put your head down and hang your clothes.
This apartment was one of the updated ones with aircon but I never had to use the AC so not sure how great it was.
Now for the downside and this only seemed to effect me lol. A few days I tried to get an afternoon nap but I just couldnt do it, the lifts make this weird spaceship droning noise and when one lift goes the second also goes it got on my nerves, then on the last night I wanted to get to bed early for the flight the next morning again I couldnt sleep it was getting on my nerves, I moved into the lounge area but could still hear it. This was off season in October so what would it be like in peak season, it went on right upto 5am-ish
I spoke to several others when in the lifts etc and they had been going for over 7 years and it never effected anyone but me which is very unusual I can normally sleep anywhere.
Now Sol Y Vera do a minimum of 4 nights but Mick asked if we could have 3 nights and the management agreed which was great. Just a word about the reception staff they were all very friendly and nice. Really great welcome and nice start to our stay.
Would I stay again, well for that sort of money yes its a bargain and the apartment is massive Ill just have to get used to the lift noise
