Well on arriving at our home for the next 7 days, the first impression was very favourable, as seen before.
The Building was only about 6 or 7 years old, & was only 3 floors high & as you can see looked quite impressive.
We duly booked in at Reception, & were allocated rooms 228, (we had to have that as San doesn't like odd numbers, don't ask,)
& 229, next door to each other we thought.
We paid for a safe for the room,
a thing that I & other's can only very strongly recommend. The price was 2.75 euro per day, with a 35 euro deposit refundable at the end of our stay. The best 19.25 euro you could spend for peace of mind, during your holiday.
Well we went up to our rooms, & lo & behold we were not right next door to each other, but 228 was just around the corner of the floor, not a problem. We opened the door, which could be double locked, & put the key fob into the electric slot. Well what a pleasant surprise we had the Apartment was massive.
San trying out the bed.
To the left of the entrance was the kitchen then the living/dining room, with access to the balcony, then the bedroom with access to the balcony as well, & to the right was the bathroom. I hope that the photo's do the Apartment justice, as there was plenty of room for us in there. Brian & Brenda's Apartment was the almost exactly the same, but the other way round.
The Kitchen had everything that you could want in Apartment, including a Washing Machine & a Dish Washer, I thought that was me,
a Fridge Freezer, a hob, a Filter Coffee Making Machine, a Kettle, a Toaster, a Microwave & plenty of Cupboards.
The view of the kitchen from the living room.
The view of the dining area with the kitchen through the hatch in the background.
The living room from the kitchen, which had a TV with English programmes, BBC, ITV & Sky News etc.
The bedroom was again very big, with plenty of wardrobes, hangers & the safe was in there as well, as usual.
Also a lovely size balcony, but the only downside was not much of a view from it, as we overlooked the car park area, but it was quiet. Our car parked up in the shade, 3rd one along.
This unfinished building was opposite us, we did notice a few buildings like this, so the recession had hit here as well.
Going onto the recession type front, these unused units under the Hotel/Apartment, seemed to have never been used. Above these units was a Tennis Court, but didn't seem to be in use.
The pool area, on 2 levels, had a couple of 1.43m deep pools, with a kiddies pool to the side, where most of the Families sat around. San, Brenda & Brian soaking up the sun,
whilst yours truly, was taking photo's for MF.
I would say that the pool was freezing,
which was a big downside, but it felt that it was warming up slightly through the 7 days. But I did feel that when I went in, it felt like had 3 Adam's Apple's.
I had to nick photo's of the Reception area, bar, games room & Spa, as San had dropped & broken our camera.
The Reception area.
Below the Reception area, was a Restaurant called Flavours, which we had a meal in, at 8.50 euro each. Brenda had Pork Loin, Brian had Fish & Chips, with mushy peas, & me & San had Chicken Piri, which was on the bone, not to San's liking, TBF. Also they did an English Breakfast, for 5.50euro, which we didn't have TBH.
A photo of the menu, for the Restaurant.
Opposite was the bar called Piccadily, which had a Lady Gaga & Jessie J tribute, on different night's, a girl called Rebecca from Llandudno, she was OKish, do you know her DD? A Parrot show,
for the kids I suppose, we didn't go to it. A cover's duo called Focus, not too bad. an all girl dance group,
The prices were quite reasonable for a Hotel we thought. 3.50 euro for a pint & 4.50 euro for a Vodka & Coke.
A games room, with pool table's & a computer area, which I didn't use, to log onto MF.
Also, a Health Spa, which we didn't use either.
Summing up, I would recommend this Hotel/Apartment, as I would definitely stay here again, also it wasn't in a noisy area at all. It was a 10 minute or so walk to the bottom or the top of the Strip Bar/Restaurant area, both flattish depending which way you went. A 20 to 25 minute walk to the Old Town Bar/Restaurant area, which was downhill & uphill. A train, with 4 stops, one was right outside our Hotel/Apartments, which went around Albufeira, which was 2.50 euro each for a single trip, a bit steep we all thought at 10 euro for us all, as a taxi was half of that, or 4 euro each for a full trip. A taxi was less than 5 euro back from the Old Town, which we used twice, but we didn't get a taxi back from the Strip as it was flat & a quicker walk back.
We were blessed with 7 days of sun,
sorry Deb's & Don,
but I must admit is was very windy at night time,
so a jumper/cardigan or a jacket would have helped, I didn't take either.
The room was brilliant, with the towels & beds made up at least every other day, or every day if you left your make up the room sign on your door. The only downside I would say is if you like the pool, dip your toe in the water first, as I said earlier it was freezing.
But all in all, a great place to base your holiday in Albufeira.
