That's a very good price debbish.Just the transfers still to pay for.I don't think the best accommodation in Majorca bargains for 2011 have hit the screens yet.Flights need to be booked the sooner the better because generally the sooner you book them after launch they will never be cheaper than now.

Digs are a different matter.The prices now for 2011 are deliberately aimed at those of us who feel most comfortable when we have booked the very accommodation we wanted for the exact dates we wanted.The sales start after Christmas and my stay at Sol Mirlos,Palma Nova, for this year's meetup was booked in Travel Republic's sale in January.Big discount off their normal price. Just like Debs I couldn't believe how cheap.

Generally Majorca has had another disappointing year in 2010 with visitors from UK.I know 6 months ago the Minister for Tourism was making bullish statements via press releases about the increased level of forward bookings for summer season 2010 but the regular comments on this forum and TA about how quiet it was in certain Majorcan resorts even for July/August (eg Daryn at Sol Guadalupe) were real.

So what to expect for 2011? In a current Travel Trade Conference Report delegates predict that UK holidymakers will continue to shun the eurozone in favour of (again) Turkey,Bulgaria and Egypt.That's the view of the experts.From my own 2010 holiday experiences in Spain (Majorca and Costa del Sol) Majorca is overpricing itself.Not enough to put off those who wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for their fortnight in the sun (hence the growth of cheap All Inclusive deals as in Calas de Mallorca and the moans that follow about low standards).Last month's holiday near Nerja opened my eyes to the price differences of food and drink between Majorca and Southern Spain.We are going to Costa del Sol again a week Sunday so I will be having another look.And in September on the Adriatic coast of Italy I found prices overall lower than Majorca with a much higher standard of cleanliness on the streets,beaches and in bars and restaurants.

Just my considered opinions for what they're worth.Thanks for reading.

Well done Debs it's a brill price

To be honest Wirral we came to the conclusion that Majorca was over priced 2 years ago when we first visited Puerto de Pollensa but I must admit in October at Palma Nova the prices were more reasonable (except for my one bug bear don't ask). If the prices are kept low, holiday makers will gradually realise this and return but unfortunately convincing them will take as long as it did for the Island to realise it was getting too dear.

That is a good price Debs. Roll on January for the Easyjet prices for October.

Exactly right there mind, my parents were over there a couple of years ago and couldnt believe the prices,
my friends that used to go there with us have stopped as they said it was getting too pricey and they prefer
Benidorm now for there 3 nighter in October but Im hoping to tempt them back for next years meet up.

I think it was about 2 - 3 years ago we first went there, & and have been back at least 7 or 8 times now - we went 4 times last year

I am very happy with my bargain, have looked at Thomsons since I booked it & flights have gone up to £218 - we paid £158 for both return! Just got to save spending pennies now :£*:

You can't save spending pennies otherwise you will get bladder problems and Tena pads.

Was the hotel managers nose still bleeding when you went back the second time last year?

Just been checking Jet2 for October I can get a flight out on the 2nd but cant get one coming back on the Wednesday, can get it for Thursday but its no godd due to Debbies work. So dilema what do I do, book the flights going out and try to get one coming back with easyjet ot hang on MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm decisions decisions lol
