My old Da was 78 on Thursday so took him & my mum for a wee day out to the Falkirk Wheel & Falkirk Kelpies. The Falkirk Wheel is a engineering marvel & well worth a visit if you appreciate stuff like that.

£9 for adults, £8 Concessions & £5 for kids for a 45min tour on a boat. Not too bad for a Scottish Tourist attraction.
Since we were through in Falkirk we thought we'd go see the 'Kelpies' too.

The Kelpies are absolutely magnificent, photos don't do them justice, much more majestic 'in the flesh' & really worth a look. Can do a wee guided tour inside of them for a fiver but we all agreed it would probably take away from their mystique (nowt to do with the fact I was paying
)
Unusually for Scotland the weather was fantastic, obviously added to the day.
