My name is Dan,I joined the forum because I have wanted to holiday in Majorca for many years but have never managed to determine which areas are least spoilt by tourism as we prefer the real Spain and hate mass tourism. Any help would be greatfully recieved and I look forward to finding lots of info on the island.

Hi & Dan, ask away mate, we've all been to most parts of the Island. Also have a look in the reviews for my North West Coast drive, should give you a taste of the unspoilt part.
Daryn will be able to tell you what bars sell Fosters

Hi Mark, We like the unspoilt areas of Spain, nature plus Spanish history but on the other side of the coin we hate Torremolinos/English Bar kind of areas so would avoid this like the plague. I have formed an opinion that Majorca might be a bit too developed throughout but I'm still looking for a large area that survived mass tourism?

There is places that have not been spoilt although Im no expert on them and never been to them but have looked them up but never visited....................
Looking through all these videos I would love 2 or 3 weeks just going from one place to the next, in al the years Ive been going Ive seen nothing but the tourist resorts.
This looks really nice

Some excellent suggestions from Daryn.
Peter b 600 also has a off shoot web site dedicated to the town of Soller (linked in the review section) which I think would be right up your street Dan.
But of course the whole Spanish economy survives on tourism, so only areas away from the coastal resorts remain a-typical Dan.

you guys are so friendly!! Thanks for the warm welcome and comments, the clips were a big help and I'm now sure I'll be visiting Majorca soon. I have spent lots of time exploring Andalucia and love most areas away from the coast but especially Ronda and Granada as the views are stunning. For culture I love Seville and Jerez but for a quiet seaside resort my favorite place right now is the Catalonian coastline around Cadaques and Roses

You're going to like the whole north west coast of Majorca then. If money is no object you could base yourself in Puerto de Andratx (expensive yacht type of resort) but then take a drive up the mountainous side of Majorca. But Soller would be a good base, you could drive either way and get scenery, or take the 100 year old train through the orange groves back to Palma, which in the Cathedral area is brimming with typical Spain, - pickpockets and all!

Hi Dan and welcome to the forum
Mallorca has somewhere for everybody you just need to decide what type of place you would like to stay in. I tend to choose remote areas or smaller towns when I visit Mallorca and absolutely love it.
As has been suggested Soller is an excellent base for a holiday and I don't know of anyone who has visited Soller and not fallen for its charms.

Yeah, Soller is worlds apart from the wild west that Magaluf is in the summer.

Yeah its only Maga that has that problem, honest dont worry. I watch the one on Costa Del Sol and that is really bad, knife attacks/fights etc. Soller is nothing at all like Maga, even Palma Nova which is within walking distance of Maga is nothing like that.
