Hi as the title suggest I am a Personal Trainer, without plugging I run Boot Camps and am looking to bring something to Mallorca, possibly Cala Mayor. In the mean time and possibly as a main job to my Personal Training I am looking for work can be seasonal such as cleaner, barman, sales, waiter not bothered what the job is really. I understand that the Spanish employment situation is fairly horrendous just like anywhere so I don't expect to rock up on the Island and be made, I am realistic regarding wages (5 euro an hour I have seen on some forums), hours of work.
I have found a long term let in Cala Mayor as the rent is cheaper than in Palma City and I understand Cala Mayor is an all year round place where the locals working in Palma choose to live although I stand corrected if any of this is not correct. Any help on the job front such as contacts you may have in Hotels, Restaurants, Cleaning companies and or advice of demand for Personal Training on the Island or Hotels, Gym's looking for Fitness Instructor.

Thanks Mick I will check it out. I am out in CM signing contracts for the business with first Hotel on 2nd June so my flyers should be all around the island from there as will be looking to establish for tourists, locals and ex pats a like. Hopefully as it grows or if it grows I should say then I can start employing local instructors and hopefully get some people back into work but saying it and making it happen are two very different things hence I want the security and back up of a regular job to start with.

As a PT i'm sure you're on the case, but the only other suggestion I have is to check out the Gym's in Palma (city), whish are year round rather than seasonal.

I wasn't as yet Mark as not a lot of info regarding the Gym's in Palma so I am going to scout them out while over as I would think I need to be fluent in Spanish for some and maybe not for others plus I usually find I can sell myself and what I am offering better in person. I am so enthusiastic I think I get on their nerves so they just give in to me. Can't see the Spanish responding that way so might need to curb the child like hopping up and down

The only other place I can think might be worth a try (as they have a lot of Americans staying there so English is more important) is the Marriot Resort at Son Antem, about 10 mins (by car) on the other side of Palma from C mayor.

The work situation is coming along nicely for the business I have sold 650 places for next year so that'l keep me out in Cala Mayor for 6 months and June, September and October this year has sold out. Hi from the UK but coming to Mallorca 26 people per week for 26 weeks having to deal with the whole situation of working over there now such as N.E.I. and I think I need a few other things to run a business over there for more than 3 months so its all go. I used an internet marketing company to generate the sales if I am honest but its worked out fatastic

This is a gym in Magaluf that might be of help as well Malc. It is situated underneath the Sol Y Vera Apartments. It may be of some value for you in the future over in Magaluf, if you ever head that way.

Hi I guess I could try the whippets but the Donkey will probably be too stubborn. Yeah Mick I will be here got a great little place a Cala Mayor on long term let I got it very cheap as I could move in that so quick. Been to the local council got my N.E.I. and paperwork all sorted. Mick I sure will, I get a set allocation of rooms at net price so if you guys need some luxury at cheap price give me a shout, it's amazing what the Hotels make as a profit per room. That Gym is very good in Magaluf has a good variety of equipment but the air conditioning packs up regularly so it can become like a sauna. Thanks again everyone
