| Myself, Becky & Jamie went to Weybridge on Saturday, for an overnight stay at our friend's Colin & Karen's house. To get to it we took the A43 to Northampton, junction 15 of the M1 south & then onto the M25 anticlockwise. The M25 is an horrendous journey at the best of times, as I am sure Mark & a few others will vouch for. Some of the driver's on there are absolute "Bellends", to say the least. Weybridge is off of junction 11 of the M25, on a good day about 1 & 3/4 hours journey, but it took at least an hour more than that, due to bumper to bumper traffic from junctions 20 to 15 near Heathrow Airport. It is a lovely town in the Borough of Elmbridge in Surrey. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weybridge Also it is on the flight path of Heathrow Airport, but after a while something that you get very used to. Our friend's live in a beautiful electronic gated area of the town off of Queens Road, they have a beautiful 5 bedroomed house. In our opinion it must have cost a small fortune, due to the prices in this affluent area, but our friend's are very "down to earth" with no airs or graces. The front of the house.
The electronic gates, that lead into the drive of the house.
The back garden of the house.
There was a programme on Channel 4 a while ago called "Posh Pawn", http://www.channel4.com/programmes/posh-pawn/on-demand which was set in Weybridge mainly, just further down Queen's Road. It frequently dealt in valuable items from Millionaires believe it or not around the Surrey area. Rich on paper but some needed cash flow money, if you know what I mean. This is myself & Becky at the front of the shop, it looked much bigger on TV.
On the Saturday night we went to a Restaurant near the Cricket ground called The Tree House.
On the special menu, was an Ostrich burger, as I like to try different things, so I chose it, & Becks had a Rib Eye Steak. I found it quite a strange taste, a bit like game, venison, rabbit, chicken & beef all rolled into one, is the only way I could describe it. Not too sure if I would have it again though.
For dessert we chose from the Taywell Ice Cream range, who a very close friend of mine works for & are based near Maidstone in Kent. Apparently he delivered their Ice Cream & Sorbet order on Thursday, so it was very fresh, & very delicious I have to say. I would recommend the Honeycomb Ice Cream.
As I said, the Resto was near the Weybridge Cricket Ground, which is in a very English quintessential setting to be honest with you. They had played Normandy on the Saturday, not a region in France, but a village near Guildford. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normandy,_Surrey
A view of the square & surrounding area.
It was only an overnight stay that we had, but it is in a beautiful area of England, & within easy reach of London, & many other beautiful surrounding areas & attractions, & well worth a visit.
