Hi,the wife and i holidayed at the Son Baulo Hotel last June and this Sept. The hotel is in the Son Baulo area which is a 20-25 minute walk from the centre of Ca'n Picafort. CP is popular with Germans as well as us Brits, the wife and i enjoyed visiting some of the German bars and got a taste for Bitteburgher lager, CP is a large resort but is fairly low key as regards night life. We stay in the Son Baulo area which is lovely,a small quite resort with a superb sandy, clean beach a few shops and sea front bars and restos, the walk into CP is via a wide, well lit prom with bars and restos to stop at along the way. The hotel is right on the lovely beach next to a nature reserve where there are a number of walks available, the hotel is very popular with families and has friendly staff and great food. No comment on the entertainment as we went out at night, that stroll along the prom being ideal after the evening meal. IMO it is well worth the upgrade to the sea view rooms as the view is amazing. We have booked for June 2011 but are staying at the Bonsai hotel which is just across the road and is a adults only hotel,we have popped for drinks many times and like the feel of the place so we booked it,if you book for 7 days or more you get a free taxi transfer. We thought food and drink was very reasonable in the area,e2.80 for a pint of strongbow in scandals bar which is a great little bar where you can meet other people and watch the world go by, there is also a very large market held here every Friday. Will do a full trip report of the Bonsai upon our return in June, will try to add some pics aswell.

I find it really hard getting night shots with my camera they never come out very good, all I want is a camera that I can point and get what I am seeing in the picture, Im not talking about photos in bars etc Im talking about scenery shots. When I go to take a shot at night the flash automatically comes on, so I switch it off and the shot comes out blurry as its trying to focus.I love taking scenery shots and a new camera is a must for me next year.My phone was great at night shots but something has gone wrong with it another challenge for me then lol _________________

i know what you mean daryn,my old olympus digital that took the above shots has exactly the same fault. that's why i treated myself to a better camera,i love taking pics of our grand daughter, and when out walking and of course holidays. i know nothing about photography or cameras so i did a bit of homework on the web and opted for my current model,it's a idiot proof point and shoot that fits in my pocket,i did not want a huge slr hanging around my neck that i would'nt be able to appreciate or do it justice. the sony cybershot dsch55 has a IA (intelligent auto) mode that does it all for you,and the one mode i love when out hiking is the panoramic mode,it allows me to sweep from side to side or up and down and automaticaly stitches the shots together to give you a 240 degree shot.it also as lots of scene modes i have not tried yet. some folk may come along and slate this camera/model but it does the job i reqiure of it very well. i priced up the camera in jessops, curries, comet ect and it averaged out at about £250,a friend of mine has a ebay account where i bought the camera with extras like a 8gb memory card,tripod,case,5 piece lens cleaning kit, memory stick all for under £180 quid,a bit more than i wanted to pay in the begining but that panoramic mode made me lust after it lol. sony cyber-shot dsc-h55

The bit between Alcudia and Artá is the only part of the island I haven't yet explored. Water looks crystal clear... I like that. Nice one yosef
