During this summer I have found my computer getting hot and both fans working hard then sometimes freezing. Then I have to switch off and start again. I hoover sucked out the air grills and still the same. I then got a metal drawer with holes in it and turned it upside down to put the PC on it to get more air under it. It still did it.
So last Sunday bought an air spray can and fired it inside, still the same.
So now I had to open it up and found that it had star torx screws holding it together. I watched a video first. I then had to buy a pack of star torx screwdrivers sold in packs of nine for £7.
Under a flap there were two very small phillips screws and I have about a dozen small screwdrivers which none would remove them. So I bought a pack of small screwdrivers both flat and phillips for £8 and not realising had a range of star torx included as well. So now I have 21 screwdrivers to open a PC
I took a small bit of fluff out of the edge of one fan and blew the air around it. It seems to have worked, the battery is the flat black 'lilo' looking thing which to replace now has to have the back of the PC removed but at least I know how to do it now
It seem to have done the trick for now
