As we stayed at the Mansion House in Scarborough, I suppose that I had better post photo's of the resort/town, the photo's were taken over the 3 days that we were there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarborough,_North_Yorkshire
The information board showing both the South Bay & North Bay of the town.

We decided to set off for a walk around the 2 Bays.
Scarborough Img_1132
The clock tower on the Esplanade adjacent to the putting green.
Scarborough Img_1212
The putting green where as a lad I used to play with my Dad on a couple of holidays here.
Scarborough Img_1133
The view of the South Bay from the putting green.
Scarborough Img_1134
The Italian Gardens which are just below our hotel, don't really do them justice until late spring early summer when the flowers come out.
Scarborough Img_1135
The Spa complex outside theatre where concerts are held during the summer months.
Scarborough Img_1136
A short video from the beach giving a panoramic view of Scarborough in front of the Spa complex.

The Grand Hotel, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Hotel_(Scarborough) very imposing on the South Cliff.
Scarborough Img_1137
The Tramways, here is a bit more information about them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarborough_funiculars
Scarborough Img_1138
A usual sight on a seaside resort's beach in Britain, the donkeys.
Scarborough Img_1139
A very well kept town with some lovely gardens.
Scarborough Img_1140
The harbour, seen from different angles.
Scarborough Img_1141

Scarborough Img_1218
The lighthouse & anti aircraft gun.

There are plenty of boat trips that can be taken for all types of boats.
Scarborough Img_1213

The small funfair where you go around from the South to North Bays.
Scarborough Img_1215
Scarborough Img_1216
Alot of bikers were here on the Sunday.
Scarborough Img_1155
I have never seen so many seagulls before in the rocks nesting.
Scarborough Img_1143
This video shows the noise they make going out to sea then back again to the rocks.

The view of the North Bay from the Castle between the Bays.
Scarborough Img_1224
The entrance & buildings around the Castle, we didn't go in as we were on the way home soon.

The indoor market of the town, which looked like it has just been refurbished.
Scarborough Img_1228
Becky inside the hall, not too many stores as of yet.
Scarborough Img_1229
On the North Bay, there had been a prestige car show, by the look of things.
Scarborough Img_1144
Scarborough Img_1145
There was a very fabulous sculpture of a guy called Freddie Gilroy.
Scarborough Img_1147
The story of this gentleman, was very heartwarming & sad, & brought a lump to our throats TBH.
Scarborough Img_1146
Becky walking towards a fantastic set of apartments at the end of North Bay.
Scarborough Img_1148
Just along the road from these apartments is Peasholm Park, http://www.peasholmpark.com/  where you can see model size naval battles.

Scarborough Img_1152
This facade is the Scarborough BC Refuse Depot would you believe.
Scarborough Img_1153
The very imposing road bridge connecting Scarborough.
Scarborough Img_1154
The fabulous footbridge from the Grand Hotel towards the Esplanade.
Scarborough Img_1231
We found Scarborough a great place to stay, explore & use as a bolt hole, to visit the rest of North Yorkshire. 2 more reviews to follow on Robin's Hood Bay & Whitby.

Great photos mate covered the place well, me and Debbie have had a night there before and went to Peasholm Park, they used to have cable cars not sure if they are still there and at the end of the harbour was a seal sanctuary.

I stayed there as a child as well, they used to have a big open door pool again not sure if that is there

It is definitely worth a visit mate in or out of season TBH, because you can use Scarborough as a base for the rest of the North Yorkshire area. Thumsup
