Well on Bank Holiday Monday, Becky, Brett, Kelly, Tyler, Harvey & myself, spent a great time at West Lodge Farm Park, about 5 or 6 miles from Kettering. I was the only one that had never visited here before, but the car park was heaving as this place is very popular. I imagine that there are quite a few of theses farms around the country, that have diversified from being "just a farm", for all sorts of different reasons. This is their website. http://www.westlodgeruralcentre.co.uk/ The weather wasn't the best so we took brollies just in case, which proved to be the right idea later on. The entrance to the park.
My beauties having a wander around the animal barns.
Harvey looking in amazement at the chickens in their pens.
Becky feeding the goats, only kidding.
Grandad, this one wants more food, shouts Tyler.
Two of the biggest eared Rabbits I have ever seen.
Then on to the Lambs pen, Tyler absolutely loves these.
There are all sorts going on at the farm, this area is set out for kids to plant vegetables etc.
At a certain time of the day, there is a Piglet race, with the names of Pony McCoy (red), Lester Piglet (yellow), Wonky Donkey (green) & Walter Swinbaan (blue).
The farmer guy top the right, is an old neighbours son, who has worked on the farm for over 11 years, & was like the Race MC.
This is a short video of the race, won by Lester Piglet, they have a turn of speed.
We then all went on to the Piggery, you had to hold your breath/nose, where again we saw some of the biggest pigs, all with ladies names like Beryl & Muriel.
We then had a spot of lunch in the restaurant, Brett & Kelly waiting for theirs. Also it was a Pirate themed day when we went.
Becky & myself had a coffee & a slice of cake, very nice.
We then went for a wander around more of the main farm, there are trails to follow, looking at the sheep in the fields.
Plus the cows grazing away in their field.
Tyler wanted to have a play In the Adventure Play Area, he was in his element.
It was raining slightly, be he wasn't bothered.
He went from driving this tractor..................
...........to this one.
Then he went on the barrel ride around the farm with his Dad, & as it was raining a bit more, we decided to go home.
All in all, it was a fabulous day out & in the summer it would be well worth a full day there. I thoroughly recommend a day out at one of these farms, which might be local to yourselves for the kids/grandkids.

Would be hot over there today. I see that the roads around the farm are being re-tarmaced, so might be difficult to get there.
