| Went to the Cosy Club in Stamford, here is their website, www.cosyclub.co.uk/stamford , for a bite to eat & a drink yesterday. Very quirky & different in style, apparently it was the Old Delivery Office of Royal Mail. There are 5 others around the Country, in Taunton, Bath, Salisbury, Cardiff & Exeter. Some of the items on the menu are quite pricey, but it was well worth a visit to somewhere different. It wasn't too busy & we found a seat very easily, which was a leather settee with 2 matching armchairs, very Country Parlour type seating. Here is the food & drinks menus. www.cosyclub.co.uk/uploads/820.pdf www.cosyclub.co.uk/uploads/808.pdf The Bar area, with Brian warming up his brandy.
Another view, with a flag that said, "God Save The King", in the background.
Further round the room.
Firstly we had 2 Americano Coffee's, 2 Brandy's & the Girls had 2 White wines, & Brenda had a Roquefort Cheese Salad, which came to just over £23. Then we had 3 more Americano Coffee's, a Bailey's & a small bowl of just over 18 chips, & that came to just under £14, nice but a bit pricey we thought. One of the 2 entrances to the Cosy Club, this led to an area adjacent to the River Welland, which flows through Stamford.
Stamford is an oldy worldy town, set just off of the A1 & well worth a visit if you are in the area. With Burghley House to the south east of the town, also well worth a visit, over the spring/summer months.
