| On day 2 of our mini break to Scarborough, we went the short drive to Robin's Hood Bay. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Hood%27s_Bay The view on the way down to the Bay.
We found a car park at the top of the Bay with a lovely view.
This proper Yorkshire saying on this van, reminded us of Dad's.
The usual helpful information boards.
The Victoria Hotel with a stunning view overlooking the sea.
A very narrow road led down to the sea front, the place both reminded us of Cornwall.
Small streams passing by lovely stone cottages.
A Mick & Becky selfie, which turned out not too bad.
The view to the South of the Bay.
The view to the North of the Bay.
Becky enjoying the view in the sun.
Small pathways leading to shops, cafe's & more cottages
Me posing with the sea behind.
Becky posing by a row of cottages.
A lot of the cottages here can be rented out.
Most of the cottages had brightly coloured doors, but not for big lads like me to get in.
This is the shop Downt' Bank, from the white van in the car park.
We found a little bric a brac shop just below the car park, & I decided to buy a Hydrangea, as they reminded me of my Mum & Dad's garden.
This is me holding the plant on the Monday. We got home on the Tuesday at 4.10pm, I planted it at 4.15pm................
..........this is what it looked like at 4.20pm, after Maggie decided to dig it out a rip it to shreds & I replanted it.
I know that I am a tall guy, but even Becky photo shopped off the rest of my body.
Amazing what they did 136 years ago.
A last couple of shots, the first one being the Bay
& the second the surrounding area.We only stopped here for about 45 minutes or so, it is not a very big place, but we thought well worth a visit. We then moved on a bit further North up the coast to Whitby. _________________ Mick

Just a little more info for you, on the beaches you can find fossils. I found a site that talks about them here https://ukfossils.co.uk/category/yorkshire/ I always said I would go back and look one day. _________________ |
