Subject: Re: A few scenic photos with my mobile phone Mon Jul 28, 2014 11:10 pm
When Im at work I have it on all the time watching videos and using the online sat nav occasionally it gets some hammer but lasts a full day I haven't charged it today and its half full from yesterdays charge after using it at work last night, what I will do is fully charge it tonight and see how long it lasts using it normally and let you know. The battery is a 2,070mAh battery which is a whopper.
The screen is rather large so its not going to be a record breaker.
These phones had an issue with accepting sd cards but mine is the updated one (4G version) without any problems at all upto now, Ive got apps, photos and music stored on the sd card and its working nice and smooth

Read this one for the battery tests itsa really good read ............
When I was looking for a phone I wanted an all rounder for the best money, didnt want to spend a fortune but wanted a phone that was upto date with good/decent hardware, yet this phone for the money on paper seems to be far more than that and upto now Im loving it. As soon as my battery is full we will see how long it lasts.

Its been nearly 12 hours since the phone was fully charged and I have 91% battery life left, Ive had no calls, but had 1 text and had a huge android update ( kitkat 4.4). Within this update was the sd card fix which I never seemed to have had a problem with anyway.

Laugh? My Samsung Galaxy S3 is off the bottom of your table lol
Without wi-fi or mobile data mine will last all day down to about 50% left if I just have a few calls and texts, maybe say 15 - 20 mins of calls. But the charging is a problem. I've tried about 4 different chargers now, they start off alright, but it's like the phone builds up a resistance to them lol, it can take all night from midnight ish till leaving for work at 7 - 7.15 am for it to recover that 50% of charge So if you forget to charge it, it goes flat, then takes at least 12 hours to recharge. Pile of sh ite really

Ok so had an update today as already said, been out this afternoon and had bluetooth on, had 3 phone conversations ,got home switched off bluetooth and just checked the battery and it reads that I have 84% left, it hasn't been hammered today but just goes to show for normal use appose to heavy weekend use how much further the battery life goes, Im not going to charge it up until its down to 10% or more to see how long it lasts but I reckon Ill get 2 days easy at this rate.
Dont forget its not 24hours until 01.30

I think this is looking like it'll be the one for me. I was also looking earlier, I think I can double up my clubcard points and use them against the purchase of it as well? Which would be a clincher really.
Now I'll have to try and get my head around riff raff or whatever it is...

Rodney has told me giff gaff can monitor heavy download use and can squeeze out the big users to low meg use
not sure if it affects general stuff
I guess it's the best without a contract, it works out a £20 a month spend doesn't it Daryn ??

Its all different prices mate I pay £12 a month get 250 minutes, unlimited texts, and unlimited internet. But they have different offers but the good thing is you can pay £12 one month then the next not bother at all, you also get free calls and texts to other giffgaffers.
It is fully unlimited but they have openly admitted that people that download/use to much or send the internet to a laptop from a mobile will get a warning first and can ended up being stopped, this doesnt apply to me, its only for people that download films etc all the time, I use mine alot watching films surfing on line, using it for forums and online sat nav and Ive never gone over 2 gig yet so it takes some doing lol, Ive been told Im a very light user so their not gonna squeeze me lol. I think its aimed at those using 8gig plus but they still dont stop them just slow them down.

so if you pay the £12 and the next month you don't, what stops in that month does it just go to pay as you go for that month

Rodney was analysing their £20 goody bag

Yeah that doesn't add up Del does it?
It's either PAYG or a contract? Can't be take it or leave it lol

I assume all the offer goes like unlimited internet and text and you pay for everything until the money runs out
Daryn Admin
Subject: Re: A few scenic photos with my mobile phone Thu Jul 31, 2014 10:16 pm
Yes thats exactly what happens guys, if you dont line up a goodybag for the next month then you go on pay as you go, thats the great thing about it, going away on holiday then pick a £7.50 goodybag or just go PAYG their is no contract.
Now here is one point to make, if you go PAYG all the time but dont top up within 3 months you lose the free calls and text to other giffgaffers, its that simple, its not a contract at all its upto you what you want to do and all set up via the internet. , no hassle at all, they were voted best provider last year.
You can leave whenever you want and take your number with you too you are not tied into anything.
Ive had a slow internet speed this week but checked the O2 website and their was a problem with a mast next to me but its supposed to be fine now so will be interesting to see if its sped up, this is the first time this has happened although I could make texts and calls and still access the internet.
Me and a mate are starting to do comparison tests now as he is on O2 so things should be the same as me regarding signal etc, Ill keep you upto date with that.

so if you pay your firt £12 and dont pay for another three months you lose your free calls to friends, so it becomes a really pay as you go, but then if you decide to have another £12 worth, do you get your free calls, internet as before or is everything lost for good
