More and more photos and chat on facebook about the problems over there. Hotel groups had a meeting with police and town hall officials and what was said is that they would be doing more, I still think this is all hot air as the police only seem to be targeting motorists and bar owners every night.

you're going to end up with groups of bar owners/residents going around photographing or filming the prossies. Guarantee you it will all kick off before long unless the gobierno do something and fast

I had a good chat with that Tony Insull when i was over there, he insinuated that there was a group that was considering taking action in a ku klux klan type of way...   

They have a big march in a few days time starting from manos.

Apparently Tracey had her bag grabbed from her. Its well out of hand now. The only thing that would make the government stand up and do something is if tourists stopped going, a complete ban of the Island but I wouldnt want to suggest that on facebook or media etc as it would totally destroy local businesses already struggling for trade.

So you see we have the likes of us thinking about all them locals but the government dont. Mind you I like the fact these businesses are all telling the truth to anyone that asks. Rud stewart was asked by pm is it really dangerous and he said yes it is.

Taking up on Marks point, this really could get lawless and out of hand.

I did read somwehere else that the guys that run the girls have got them over a barrell, it all about moody loans and now its pay back time.

I wonder what action the owners/bosses of these girls will take?

It does make you wonder how the council can change the by-laws for different things really fast but have done nothing about this scum, its got to be back handers as other areas have now made it illegal. After reading this for weeks they reckon its spreading like wildfire around the Island now,, word is out of the rich pickings.

It just doesnt make sense though, why would the council allow this to happen, the same as the lucky luckys, thats illegal so why do they allow it, again its got to be back handing from Mr Big in the background, I think the Island has a very bleak future especially if the media in the UK get involved again.

Daryn, absolutly incredible state of affairs, Im just glad that we dont stay out much after 12.00 in Santa Ponsa, I hear they are getting over there and did see one last year plying her trade.

It will be interesting to see what happens this year after the march at the weekend. I just dont understand any of it TBH

The point of a meeting, and a march, at 5 pm, on a Sunday afternoon, when all councillors are off work, and no BAW are around until about 6 hours later, escapes me...   

I've also picked up from elsewhere that these BAW are actually victims of people trafficking, they are under threat that their families back home will be done away with if they don't comply.
There was also a thing last year that the chain of command of this highly organised crime can be traced back to a Hells Angel associated German bloke.

I can see the notion of easy pickings from single, drunk, young guys at 3 am... but seeing as the police are letting these BAW act with impunity, how long before the richer pickings of broad daylight robberies are introduced?      

Sounds a bit over the top to me, a German Hells Angel, they probably are part of a crime chain but human trafficking on such a huge scale openly seen all over mallorca seems to much to me but who knows.

If that is right though you cant tell me that those in power, the Spanish council are frightened of a foreigner on their Island, I would believe more so if it was a mallorcan gangster.

Maybe the afternoons are now when they are starting,

I take my hat off to all of them for doing this, obviously all these business people cannot afford to take the time off work at night, its hard enough to make money as it is but I hope that the media are there to cover it all.

Do you know, that would be an extreme, but there is evidence to suggest it would work. Crime rates ( even the murder rates) over here , particularly in the north, have rocketed since the IRA and UVF disbanded. But at least its crime against everybody, the chances of getting shot just because you were walking down a Catholic or Protestant road have gone.

The hoteliers' group is one of the most powerful political lobby in the Canaries. The same seems to apply to Majorca.

The amount of money the Sol hotel group are investing in that area, I'm surprised it's taken so long for them to pipe up.
Sol Wave House, Sol Beach Club, Sol Katmandu... a multi million scheme.
Not exactly in keeping with the 'here we go, here we go...' drinking culture either   

Does anyoone know how the march went?

Ive not heard anything, sent a couple of messages off

Just looked its not until 15th June now   

Just got message back that the protest is on the 15th June, you have to have permission to make it legal over there so thats what they have done, made it legal but more importantly they now have the press and TV doing covering the story as it happens   

I think it's the same *new* law that has outlaw'd unlicensed pub crawls this year that the march has fallen foul of...
