| Booked up today, last week of July 1st week of August again, family of 3 (2 @ age 50 roughly, 1 @ 12). We're one of those strange families that prefers to go AI & we've holiday'd in Palma Nova, Magalluf, Sa Coma (don't think we'd go back to any), C'An Picafort, Alcudia & Puerto Pollensa (would return but prefer to try somewhere else). First thoughts are Cala D'Or, Soller maybe Santa Ponsa ('cos my mate swears by it) but very open to suggestions. We like walking & snorkelling, sandy beach not essential for us. Anybody recommend a resort for us to do some research on? Cheers in advance, HH. |

| Quite a few like, Chelsearo, & Britchick favour Santa Ponsa as they go often HH, so hopefully they will post the best places to stay & go in SP. The countdown begins for you all. _________________ Mick

| Seeing the list of places you've already been to, then IMO Cala D'Or is the next best one on the list. Small rocky sided coves, (but sandy beaches), good for snorkelling. Although my impressions of the place was it was more of a nice meal out in the evening type of place, not really a typical all inclusive type of town. For a bargain, look at Calas de Mallorca, all the hotels there are all inc. My brother goes to the America one mostly and swears by it. |

Cheers again Mark, been working over Christmas so didn't have much time for any research but had a few hours this morning. Globales America looks a decent hotel but coming up a bit pricey against one I've got my eye on in Cala D'or, probably prefer Cala D'or versus Calas de Mallorca too but thanks for the suggestion. So Hotel Marina Corfu in Cala D'or in pole position at the moment if anybody's got experience of the hotel or resort? I generally use cashback sites where possible & I can get 9.25% back if I book the hotel with Thomas Cook in the next few days. Initial Price is slightly cheaper with hotels4u but only 4.2% cashback means booking with Thomas Cook works out best. Checked about 20 sites & can't beat them (just for info have tried OnTheBeach, Easyjet, mytravel, somewhere2stay (cosmos), hotels.com, lastminute.com, expedia, hotel.info,, netflights, hotelpronto, travel republic, lowcostholidays, alpharooms, sunshine.co.uk, monarch & ebookers) if anyone can recommend any other sites to check please? Cheers HH. |

| I don't trawl through that many sites HH to look for the best deal. You've certainly covered the main ones. Any others I wouldn't trust anyway such is the way that these companies go bust at a drop of a hat. You'll have to start a separate thread and explain how cashback works. I've only vaguely heard of it. |

| It's a great time to go HH, I've been at that time before, all the cove type of beaches in Cala D'Or get right sun traps in the summer. Did spot a few jellyfish though so watch out for them. Not enough to stop people going in the water but... well, y'know. |

I've got a very effective jellyfish early-warning system Mark, they seem to be attracted to my 12yr old so I normally send him in first Cheers for mentioning it & rep added for the photo link above. HH. |

| Quick post while I'm out here to recommend Cala D'Or. Views are outstanding & the coves are fantastic. Pretty decent hotel we picked too (Marina Corfu), loads of kids though might put some folk of but great for families. 'Show Cooking' on most nights in the restaurant is fantastic. Full review when I'm back. HH |

| Yeah I like the 'cove' style of beaches in Cala D'Or, - they can get quite packed though |
