40 extra police officers for Magalluf

Palma.—A massive police operation will be launched by the Calvia council this Summer to try and keep the infamous Calle Punta Ballena in Magalluf under control.
Forty additional police officers will be recruited, backed up by Close Circuit security cameras and additional lighting on Magalluf beach. Police will patrol the so-called “strip” on foot and extra officers will be stationed in car at strategic points ready to move into action whenever needed.
Calvia tourism councillor Eugenia Frau Morena said that the operation involved officers doing in excess of 2,000 hours of over-time with the council picking up the hefty bill to try and rid Magalluf of some of its ills.

Problem is we have heard it all before. I think maybe the pressure of tourists saying they wont be back because of the problems might be making them act and hopefully they will this time round.
