This may stir up a hornets nest but its only a debate and I'm interested in what MF members think.

know these people seek a new life and a better one for their families and I would do the same for my family but does the uk soft touch help us......

It annoys me that they know if they make that final hop to our island that they will get everything, a home and money, benefits.

So is it the escape from their country they seek or the final hop to the UK soft approach and get everything that our own people cannot get. Its a hard and difficult one to work out but the other problem is that we know nothing about these people, or they criminals, rapists, terrorists etc we will never know until its to late.

Hard to know. I feel that refugees escaping a war or those who risk death because of their colour/religion, their applications should be dealt with before anyone who is simply looking for economic asylum. Also, I don't know what its like in the UK but over here, asylum seekers aren';t allowed to work and their entire stay is borne by the taxpayer. Thats not right.

Yes its a burden we could do without, I often think we should be more like Australia, if you haven't enough money for your stay then your not allowed in. If you can bring business to our country then you can be allowed in.

Its a very hard one to call.

If they are truly escaping tyranny then then would be grateful to just gain entry into the first Country that was a safe haven.

But no, they want to come here, due to the stupid benefits system we have.



For me, as they are threatening to jump off the building if their demands aren't met, I'd offer them a milk crate to stand on in case they can't get their legs over the edge.
